My black TH has some very minor scratches caused from going through some tight trails. You cannot feel them with your finger so they are only clear coat deep. Anybody have a good way of removing these without using a buffer? All the products I see seem to be more geared towards deeper scratches.

I have had great results with Meguire's Scratch X. It will not damage your paint and does a really good job on fine scratches, swirls, etc..

From the manufacturer..

Effectively remove fine scratches and swirls from your paint by hand!

Meguiars SCRATCH X 2.0 is the must-have scratch remover for isolated paint blemishes! Only Meguiars SCRATCH X works by hand on all types of paint and all types of scratches. Micro abrasives remove scratches, rather than hiding them. Meguiars SCRATCH X 2.0 is a permanent solution to isolated paint scratches!

SCRATCH X 2.0
does more than just fill in and mask the problem; it’s a powerful polish that actually buffs the offending blemish away--without causing harm to your paint. Now, common sense will tell you that if a scratch is especially deep, or the paint has been chipped you need more than a polish. If you’re faced with such a daunting imperfection, seek the advice of a professional. Chances are you will require a machine applied pro-formula, and unless you’ve acquired some expertise with these items, you’re best leaving it to a professional. However, if what you are experiencing is a ‘surface’ blemish--SCRATCH X 2.0 will do the trick.

SCRATCH X 2.0 removes oxidation, blemishes, light stains, and surface contaminants. Perfect for a specific trouble area, or on the entire car. The strong yet gentle formula is safe for all paints and, unlike some surface correctors, SCRATCH X 2.0 will not abrade your paint--leaving more scratches than you began with. This formula is easy to use, and although it is widely acknowledged by collectors and enthusiasts as a “must have” product, even a novice detailer can use it with confidence.

Use SCRATCH X 2.0 and buff the damaged area, allow to dry, and wipe off the film to reveal a deep, polished shine. If applying SCRATCHX 2.0 to your entire car, remember to work one section at a time. Now that you’ve found the solution--apply it!

I've had good luck with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound.

It's possible to polish out clear coat scratches with just a pad but your arm is gonna be pretty dead afterwards. It's worth investing in an orbital buffer to save time and effort.

I agree, Ultimate compound is good stuff also. I actually use it before scratch X and many times it does the job. Only use the Scratch X if Ultimate doesn't quite get the imperfections out.
