OK, looking through this, I've got a question for anyone with a keyless system on their car.

Say you want to listen to th radio with the engine off while you eat lunch or something. Can you do this with a keyless system? Never thought of that before, and I have never used one in person. It's simple with a key.

I can speak for how Fords keyless system works in that respect , but I assume they all are set up sort of similar.. If you want to just listen to the radio but not start the engine by turning on whats equivelent to the ACC position.. all you need to do is have your key fob on your person, door shut, and foot OFF the brake.. when you touch the START button the ACC activates and remains on for about 15 mins or until you open the door. Conversely, if you put your foot ON the brake instead of off, the engine would start..
Hope that gives you some insight.

Wow, the maintenance schedule on these reminds me of Mercedes and Volvos I have had in the past. Change Spark Plugs every 18K for 1.4L , and Change brake fluid every 18K as well..
if it where Mercedes they would have written:

"change Vehicle every two years, your friendly Dealer will send you an offer for your next car"

i'm a responsible adult as you can tell

My renegade should arrive in december because I take the sunroof as option, the lead time now here in Italy is about 40 days from the order and it's growing....

It's pretty hard just read the manual and see the garage empty..... can't wait so long!!!!

40 days is a lot to wait.
I think one thing Jeep should do is have mini events were people could come out and test drive the Renegade on some real or virtual off-road course, I know for me... that would help with making the waiting process better, it might even get some buyer conversions going on :D

I am very curious to see how the carbon black looks. You must post a picture a sap! :D
It's the best choice, of course! :D

It's actually metallic black. My wife choose it because it's a good mix with the silver of the rear view mirrors and "face".....

AS soon as I go back to the dealer I'l ask them to shoot some photos. They have it on the shop.

Looking through the weights in the linked owners manual, the lightest 1.4 L seems to weigh just over 3000 lbs, and the heaviest 2.0 Deisel is 3380. I am guessing that would likely be the TH? It is not clear on that.

A new Chrysler 200 weighs about 3400 - 3500 with the 2.4 and they get 23/36 mpg with the 9-speed Auto. I test drove one and the power is actually not bad. Aero is obviously not as good on renegade, but could be some good MPG coming, especially as gearing, wheel size and axle ratio all look identical to 200. Maybe better MPG than the 200 for the 2WD (much less weight) and slightly worse for the 4 x 4. What do you think?
