Now that a number of European forum members already own Renegade's perhaps we can get more feedback from some of them. The idea is to help all potential future Renegade owners, no matter what continent they live on, to a more informed buyers.

Renegade Owners, could you please post your overall impression of your Renegade and what model/engine/transmission combination you have.

Some of the feedback that would be helpful includes, but not limited to, Ride Comfort, Handling, Performance, Problems or Issues at Delivery, Problems or Issues after Delivery, etc.

What do you Love?
What do you Like?
What are your Dislikes?

I'm gonna kickstart CalTom's thread here as I'm compiling my own checklist of things to consider when I get my hands on a Renegade.

So can we keep it simple like: "I don't like this 'cause I wish it would be like that..." to start with?

I'll start: I don't like the oversize rear view mirror so I'll see if there is a simpler RVM offered that doesn't obstruct my view.

Can we start compiling things others consider????

I have a 2017 AWD Limited with auto tranny.

I love the the steering wheel. Beats both my ‘07 Yukon and my wife’s ‘15 Yukon steering wheels! It’s a blast to drive.

I don’t like that there seems to be zero aftermarket options for it.

I don't dislike anything about my wee Jeep Renegade 2015 2.0L 4x4 diesel Longitude.

It has a high spec for a lower price compared to other so called 4x4s currently on the UK market.

5 years and no issues that couldn't be fixed:
  • Update to cure the alarm from sounding intermittently
  • Replacement battery under warranty at 6 months
  • Oil and filter changes
  • 2nd set of tyres after 30K miles
A great "Jeep" that serves it's purpose extremely well.:love::love:

Madness Autoworks on this forum are always producing excellent aftermarket accessories for every aspect of upgrading your Jeep.

Wait till you see the Blue Renegade they have. I want it :p:p

Yeah...I’ve seen that Blue Madness Jeep...that’s what made me decide to lower it, so I’ve actually got those lowering springs somewhere around here just begging to be installed. :)

I love how our Jeeps are so readily adaptable to modifications.

  • Roof baskets
  • Roof tents
  • Roof ladders
  • Spare wheel brackets for rear door
  • Fuel can attachments
  • Lift kits
  • Spacer kits
  • Front winches
  • Bull bars
  • Variable lighting kits and bulbs
  • Underside skid plates
  • Aggressive tyres
Where do I stop? I know exactly where and that's the cost :whistle::whistle:

New to the forum. I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trail hawk 2.4l.
-I do not like if the check engine light comes on the 4wd will not be available. Always carry a code reader to clear the codes if you are off road as this can be a dangerous scenario in some situations for a small evap leak lol.

Isn't more dangerous to reset a fault code and ignore it?

I love those Jeep owners :love:o_Oo_O

I would never promote ignoring a CEL and very seriously advise the codes be investigated and diagnosed immediately. I am speaking from an experience that if I did not have a code reader I would have been stranded for days and would have been a very expensive tow to safety. While on the Cape Lookout National Seashore (soft sand - 4wd beach driving) we were about 13 miles from the ferry that hauls you to the seashore. Camped overnight for a few nights and one morning when getting ready to move locations the CEL was triggered caused by a small evap leak. I acknowledged the code with the reader and felt it was ok to drive back to the ferry to go get the Jeep serviced on the mainland. Well as I went to go only the front wheels where powered and immediately I was stuck. Could not engage 4wd. So after clearing the code I was able to engage the 4wd and get out. So, I am just telling from experience this was a situation if not for the code reader I would have been in a bind. After making it back to the mainland the Jeep was serviced and the gas cap was replaced that triggered the CEL. I just hope my experience would help others avoid a potential dicey situation.
Thank you for the comment though puddlesplasher as I was not make myself clear on the post.

Disabling 4WD for a dumb evap code was a really poor design decision. It appears they disable it for any CEL code, which is insane. They know what the codes are and could have been a lot more reasonable - it's just sloppy/lazy coding.
