Anyone have news of the Renegade production schedule or availability dates yet? Perhaps we can use this thread to track bits of news that hint at the release date. I have seen comments in some news bits that range from "at the end of 2014" to "early 2015".

I read a translated Italian news/industry article about the Renegade production factory work force and job numbers the other day. (Can't find the article right now). The article indicated "pre-production" minimal output of Renegades until the "factory construction finishes". The factory construction was set to complete "December to January". It went on to say production Renegades would be produced after the construction completes.

Has anyone seen announcements that hint at a more optimistic timeline? Earlier than spring 2015 for US deliveries to start?

I did a quick search and found the following info:
Per WIKIPEDIA, production starts in August 2014
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Renegade_(BU)
I'm not sure where WIKIPEDIA gets their information. The contributors may be from FCA, may be from the Automotive press or ???

Per Detroit Free Press 6/26/2014
http://www.freep.com/article/20140626/BUSINESS0103/306260174/Fiat-Chrysler-Jeep-India-Mike-Manley
“Production of the subcompact Jeep Renegade is expected to begin this fall in Italy. Manley said the company expects to begin selling the Renegade in Europe before the end of this year and in the U.S. early next year.”

Over here in Holland it's said deliveries will start in November 2014. Some engine and trim levels won't be available until early 2015.

So I guess the US will have to wait at least until then.
US will actually be the last market to receive the Renegade. North Americans will ave to wait until January 2015 at the earliest if my memory serves correct.

Leaving american's last is the best thing to do, other markets have more of a demand for these things, plus i already hear a lot of american's saying they wouldn't go much smaller than a cherokee.

Well the longer the wait, the better the quality at least. I agree that the typical and wonderful redneckish Jeep faithful won't take the Renegade seriously. But I also expect a gazillion new and mostly young and urban/suburban first time Jeep buyers will snatch up Renegades right and left.

Fuel efficiency will come in to play here. Hope that Jeep can surprise for once. They consistently underachieve with engine efficiency. The Cherokee 4-cyl 2.4l with 4WD is hardly better than the 3.2 V6. A serious problem for the Cherokee is driving range at hardly 300 miles per tank according to a friend of mine with a 2014. The Renegade needs to do better with a much smaller tank.

I'm right in line with your thinking on this. I'm hoping key learnings are made during international market production so that when it arrives on our shores we've got some better quality consistency.

Does anyone know if this release day of March 2015 in Geneva has any merit? Anxious to buy a renegade this winter.

The opening of that article is completely wrong and the "release date" title is unfortunately click bait.

The Renegade was REVEALED at Geneva in March 2014. Saying that it will be RELEASED in Geneva in 2015 is completely wrong. My guess is that the author misunderstood the information he was given or understood the information but decided to pad the views of his site by producing a click bait headline. The Renegade will already be released around the world by March of next year.

Edit: This is assuming their current production schedule doesn't change.

My guess is bad robot translation. I agree with your take that it is referencing the march 2014 unveiling at the geneva auto show. The only thing contradicitng it is the 7-16 byline date.

Yeah I didn't even take a look at the rest of the site so I'm not even sure what their normal coverage is. But I think they were just late to the game and a tad incorrect.
