Does the Renegade in the US have a stop/start system? I know the engines in the trims in other countries have it. Specifically the 2.4L?
No, maybe model year 2016 will have.Does the Renegade in the US have a stop/start system? I know the engines in the trims in other countries have it. Specifically the 2.4L?
Those are available on other trims, I am talking about an engine stop/start system where when stopped the engine turns off, then back on quickly when brake is released.I was able to order a Trailhawk with Remote Start System (XBM) and Passive Entry / Keyless Go (GX4). Are these options not available on the other models?
This is in the US.
Ah, my bad - I guess I've never seen that functionality before. What is it used for? Fuel economy? Those are available on other trims, I am talking about an engine stop/start system where when stopped the engine turns off, then back on quickly when brake is released.
Oh yeah it increases fuel economy, sometimes as much as several points. Jeep added it to the V6 Cherokee to improve their fuel economy and it worked pretty well to do it.Ah, my bad - I guess I've never seen that functionality before. What is it used for? Fuel economy?
About 10% is saved with these systems in real world testsMy wife's LR-4 has it and my Porsche Boxster S has it. It seems kind of silly--how much gas can it really save? Fortunately in the Porsche it can be disabled. The Land Rover requires you to disable it each time you start the engine (goes with the circa 2008 electronics in this 2015 vehicle). My '14 V-6 GC does not have it.
Yeah, maybe if you have four dozen stoplights. I would find that feature annoying.About 10% is saved with these systems in real world tests
