Hi everyone,

I have a 2017 manual jeep Renegade. Two days ago I drove the jeep in the morning, and when I tried to drive somewhere later that evening the car wouldn’t start. I have since tried to jump the vehicle, which didn’t work.
Initially, a lock symbol showed up, but that has since gone away. It will return, though, if I lock the car and come back a little while later.

I tried to attach a video of what happens when I press the clutch down and hold down the ignition button, but the best I can do is a picture. I can’t tell if the vehicle is trying to turn over and just can’t (dead battery) or if the vehicle is just implementing a hard stop and not even trying to start. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, did both those things before I posted, but thought perhaps there might be someone out there who had witnessed the issue persist even after replacing the fob battery and doing the fob to button method. Looks like I might need to talk to the dealer.

yeah, unfortunately I tried to jump the battery a couple days ago when the problem first arose, since I did initially think that was the problem. However, I wasn’t able to start the vehicle even during or after the jump, so I’m wondering now if the battery really is to blame. The car says that the battery is sitting at about 11-12 volts, and all the lights and peripherals are turning on just fine. I also removed the ground of the battery to try and “reset” the car, but that didn’t work either. Would I need to remove both terminals? I figured that breaking the circuit would be enough, but I could try and remove the positive terminal, too, to see if that does anything.
