I've read posts about the rooftop cargo baskets (Rola for example), and I like the safari look of it. But, has anyone installed a rooftop cargo box instead? Does anyone else think a cargo box would go against the grain of what a Jeep represents? Just wondering.

I think the general perception is that cargo boxes go on and come off as needed. People will put on cargo baskets and leave them there forever. They satisfy two different needs. Cargo boxes, deliberately IMO, go against the grain of pretty much any vehicle as they were never meant to be there.

I have a basket on my TH. With the limited cargo space in the Jeep you almost need one if you go out camping with a family of 4.

I have a Thule box that will be used during the summer for camping. Not sure why a box "would go against the grain" any more so than a basket would.
