Sat Nav

As some of you have Longitude spec upwards, have you used the sat nav? Any problems? I'm asking as I currently have a Scenic with TomTom built in. I have entered destinations and it has taken me elsewhere, yet when I put the same location into my phone sat nav, it worked perfect. Had both phone and Scenic nav running together to go to the same location and the phone got it correct and the Scenic TomTom got it wrong. If I was going to a location that was built in the last two weeks, I could understand it, but locations are years and years old.

I used the sat nav in the 24 hour test car quite a bit and it was spot on. It was mostly around Glasgow though. They always seem to me to be better in cities.
Unfortunately not the case with TomTom in the Scenic! It took me to the completely wrong place in Cardiff on a couple of occasions. The phone was spot on. One was the big park and ride.
Not sure if ours is different in the US but I used mine this weekend a couple times and it worked perfectly directing me to the right spot.
Used ours a few times with no issues at all
KevinFourLegs - stick with me boyo - I ordered the Taff Nav from Mopar!!

Gave me chuckle
I've used the Sat navigation and it works perfectly even going to Bangor to drop my daughters at university, but I'm not sure it pronounces the Welsh names correctly, buy I says boyo just fine, but I think you will impressed
Sat navs aren't programmed for Welsh words. It is comical listening the pronounciations. I have Google maps on my fone and TomTom in the Scenic and both can't do Welsh.

I have previously just pressed the NAV button just to see what was there and how similar functions would be to a Tom Tom etc. Yesterday I went to actually use the satnav - enter a postcode, All of the letters on the keypad display and SOME numbers are greyed out and do not react as if disabled. Any help would be appreciated folks!

Cheers
They are greyed out because there is no address or postcode in its data base which would match.
I had problems till I noticed it said Russian on the screen. I touched that and was given the option to choose UK.

Brilliant, thanks Syzygy! I had noticed it displayed the word Russia but assumed that was an option rather than the default setting! Just managed to put my home postcode in. Cheers

Hi Kevin, I have the same issue in my limited and it's driving me mad. It takes me on silly routes that just dont make sense. I've checked that it is set on fastest route (not avoid motorways or anything). I have also upgraded to lastest software by downloading the .swf file on a usb stick.. Now I get bad navigation (still), an odd smiley face that keeps changing colours (don't know what that's all about) and I can't connect using the UConnect app on my phone.. Just keeps apologising and saying please try later. Did you get anywhere?
The smiley face gives a pretty instantaneous indicatin on how you are driving from Amber (bad) to dark green (good).
Try deleting and re-installing the app. Mine seems a bit more consistent since I did that.
The only smiley face is mine, everytime that I drive the Renegade. After living with for nearly 4,000 miles, the satnav hasn't let me down. I dunno if it has anything to do with the Renegade's TomTom and being a newer vehicle than the 2013 Scenic that also had TomTom?
I had an Audi before the Renegade and I much prefer that Sat Nav to the Renegades.
However all in all it allows me to successfully find my way around

The only real gripe is the map view. It locates your cars position correctly but does not update it ??? Who have to move the map to keep up with the vehicle travelling

Have I missed something in setup?
When driving, what display do you have on the screen, map or music? I ask as I usually have music displayed on screen. If I venture somewhere unknown then I have the map display and I can see exactly where I am. I will have to drive mine and put the map on screen and see what it does.

The map should move automatically like a normal sat nav....not sure if there is something in settings that could prevent this. Odd....
We hired a Longitude from Hertz and the SAT NAV drove me to despair (literally). It seemed to be out by about 100 yards and was always ahead of itself which was seriously confusing. It's not put us off though as we've just ordered a new Limited in Alpine white today. Just hoping there have been improvements in the current model

I haven't tested the sat nav yet, other than find that our home address (house been there 100 years) is greyed out but I can set home by pinpointing on the map...where it comes up with an address 4 doors along the road...the Grand Cherokee sat nav did that too, so not really an issue. Will have a go testing the sat nav this weekend and report back any anomalies.
