So I had my Trailhawk for six days, when the service engine light came on. Of course it happened to be on a Sunday, so I had to wait till Monday to call for service. Couldn't get in for service until Tuesday. Turns out that the wiring harness is damaged. Certain pin connection is damaged. Dealer has to wait for a Chrysler technician and the parts to come in. Most likely will be two weeks. Anyone else have this happen?

You mean they can't fix it even if they had the part?

According to the dealer, "because it is a new model vehicle, they don't have the proposer tools to repair it." Do you think I'm out of line to tell them if they're going to have it for two weeks, that they can install a remote start/passive key entry for free?

That is unfortunate. Certainly caused when built. Don't see the free remote start being authorized. They may however, give you a discount.

When I bought my 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie new, I asked if it had remote start and was told yes. After everything was dine and they pulled it up for me already running I drove home. The next day I was going to remote start it when I realized it didn't have it. I called them back and they told me they could install one for $500 which is "discounted". The guy also went ahead and told me that here in Florida, remote start isn't necessary(are you kidding me?). We argued for a while and I just took the truck back. Not necessary? Pffff....doesn't matter if it was necessary it was what I requested. Anyway, they lost my sale because of that.

You can ask, although you'll probably have to call Chrysler and start there (as I did with my issue). Two weeks is a really long time to be out a new car.

The whole rollout seems completely botched - salesman who know nothing, service without even the tools to fix things. WTF.

This isn't the first time they've done a roll out with out proper planning. They did that with the Dart - Advertised the **** out of it, created a bunch of hype. The car didn't get to the lots till a couple months later and they only did manual transmissions.

By then the hype died down and a majority of the customers wanted automatic.

So is there any hope Jeep has learned their lesson and will FIRE the low bidder amateur marketing company they have or is all their marketing inhouse? If so, they they should be fired!

This is why I'm waiting. Fiat has done this with EVERY car they have come out with since their reintroduction to the U.S. You would think they would have learned before the Renegade even came out. Even with the current 500, which has been out for awhile now, they are still doing stupid crap like running out of brake pads on a national scale.

Highly Doubt it. I don't think anyone there has spent any sort of time on the front lines on the showroom floor interacting with actual customers. The 200 hasn't really taken off either. I'm glad they're putting bigger rebates on them to help them move.

So is the New FCA turning into the Old Hyundai?
