:crying:So my car has been in JB Status for 4 weeks. Just heard from the dealer it is sitting in a port in South Hampton GB, then will go to Salerno Italy on 8/31. then on to the US? So why does it go to GB then back to Italy then on to the states. Why does it sit in GB port so long? Guess it will be September when I get it I hope.

On July 22nd, I was told that my vehicle was in Salerno on the 12th of the month. Last week, I got an update that it was in South Hampton with the date being the 12th again. My status says (I). How would it go from JB to (I)? It has been in (I) status for two months.

I wouldn't take the information that was provided to you by the dealer too seriously. I have been watching to see when others get their vehicles and it seems that the shortest wait is about three month. It seems, from what I can tell, that most people get their vehicles in three and a half months.

It sounds like both you and I can look forward to getting our Renegades in September. I'm crossing my fingers.

Sounds like we could be maybe on the same ship. Why does it go to GB? I really have been waiting since March 29th. My order supposedly wasn't picked up till May 1st. Its been a long wait and need a new car since my Suzuki has 230,000 miles on it.

Wow. You have been waiting a really long time. I feel your pain.

I haven't seen any other builds go to GB. I thought it was just me at first. I'm wondering if we are just taking a different route than some of the others. It seems most special orders were being routed through Belgium. Maybe we are bypassing that. By chance, are you on the west coast? It would make more sense if our final destinations are close by.

I wish I had a name, but unfortunatly I didn't get it from the dealer. He just said it is slated to head to Salemo he said it should be departing from South Hampton GB on 8/31/15 estimated time 10am, it's eta window of departure is 8/28/15-9/03/15. But forecast for 8/31/15. That's all the info he had. Not sure if you can find the name of the shipper info based on what he gave me. It would be wonderful if you can figure it out for me, I really would appreciate the help, thanks.

My understanding is that west coast shipments built in Italy come to San Diego and are then trucked north - that is the process mine has followed (ordered 4/13 bound for Seattle area - possibly due at dealership this week). Also, the statuses do not always seem to accurately reflect where it actually is. This could change as other factories ramp up.

I don't believe the Rennies actually go back to Italy -- I think that's a database artifact. Remember the bad press about Renegade software issues? That turned out to be shipping software, not the vehicle itself. It seems Jeep/Chrysler & Fiat are having issues transferring vehicle assets between Fiat/Chrysler's 5 global regional divisions. It's like there are two separate "handoffs" between FCA & the final destination region, one that occurs when the vehicle leaves Italy and the other when the vehicle record is transferred from FCA HQ to whatever regional division is the destination. This results in two "leaving Salerno" events. At least, it looks as if that's what happened with my TH & my wife's Limited.

They'll probably work out the kinks in the new system over time, this is after all the first Jeep made in Italy. At least Rennies are getting delivered. We ordered ours back in April, still waiting for delivery.

I just got word that I have an ETA of 8/21-8/27. If our cars on the same boat, you should be getting yours soon too! I'm not going to get too excited because you never know, but still... :)

renren I'm curious what options you ordered on your Latitude?

I'm waiting on an Orange Latitude 1.4T with Powered MySky :). I'm also west coast. Ordered May 9th. Still no ETA for mine.

I wonder if the ones sent back to Salerno were for quality purposes???

Also does anyone know if Jeep is intending to switch NA production to Brazil? Would think that it makes more logistical sense to come from Brazil then Italy... then again, is there a direct rail link from down there?

This question arose elsewhere in the Forum. An article was posted explaining that Brazil will be producing solely for the South American market. Don't know if this thought process has changed since then.

My options

I ordered similar options. I ordered an Orange Latitude, 2.4L engine, Power My Sky, popular equipment group, remote start, and safety and security group.

I don't want to "count my chickens before they hatch" though. We'll see if it comes in during that window. One can hope.

BTW, I got the ETA data from JeepCares. I also talked to my dealership and they said that the only notice that they have is that my status won't be updated until 8/24. I trust JeepCares more because my dealership had no idea that I never got any notices from Jeep on my status after I placed my order. They were under the impression that I was getting routine notices from Jeep and told me that the system that they are using to get updates is new to them. It sounds like there may be some bugs in the way the updates are posted. It also sounds like each source (Jeep Garage, the dealership, and JeepCares) all have different tracking systems. On Jeep Garage, it says that my status is I and with JeepCares it is JB.
