Shut off heated seats and steering wheel

I have the cold weather group. I have noticed that when its cold the heated seats and steering wheel automatically come on. Is there a way to stop this from happening ? I can't see any menu in Uconnect to stop this.

This is a big problem for me as not only can I not turn off the heated steering wheel but I also can not turn off the heated seat! Buttons do not light up and are unresponsive. However, it seems to be an intermittent problem as sometimes it works fine meaning it auto-ons the steering wheel and seat heat but the buttons light up and I can toggle them off when I want. Drove an hour with the heated seats on and I was friggin hot!
If you turn the ignition off and on again when you get into the car, does it not reset it?
Nope. Only when the temperature outside gets warmer.
That's broken.
I am actually sitting at my dealer right now. The service manager is saying that it cannot be turned off and this it is hard programmed to shut off after 80 minutes.
80 minutes?! I could see 10 or 20 minutes, but 80 minutes is ridiculous. The Trailhawk we bought down here on the Gulf Coast already had this package in it for some reason. I know I would have never chosen it for down here.
That's broken.
No its not broken. Its just poorly designed. Some dumb engineer thought it would make sense to automatically turn on the heated seats and steering wheel when it is cold without providing the means to not have this happen. I am hoping enough people complain about this so they make a change to all versions of Uconnect to disable this function.

Have some people not reported they can switch some of the features off?
I like that it comes on when its cold out. I hear that on the 6.5 you can shut it off but I haven't checked.

But that is not what I am talking about. The point is sometimes when you start the car the heat turns on for the seats, steering wheel, and the buttons light up properly. When this happens you can hit the buttons to shut off the heat. Other times when you start the car the heat turns on for the seats, steering wheel but the buttons do not light up. When this happens you can not shut the heat off.

You can hit the dash buttons to turn off the heated wheel and seats. However it would be nice to not have them automatically go on every time you start the car when it is cold.
My dash buttons are unresponsive making it impossible to shut the heaters off. It's at the dealer now.

Isn't that one of the main benefits on getting the cold weather package? Seems like a nice thing.

Not being able to shut them off at all once they're on though like some people are having trouble with...now yeah that doesn't sound right.

I love this feature.
The seat does get rather toasty after a while, so I am grateful I can turn mine down, or off, whenever I need to.

Keep us posted on what your dealership has to say about your inoperative buttons, Kyle.
Will do. They did a software update but it was already 50 degrees when I picked it up this morning. Should be able to report back in a couple days.
Seat and steering wheel warmer

I just got my Renegade and the seat warmer and steering wheel warmer come on every time i start the Jeep. I dont have remote start and cannot find in the Uconnect 5.0 menu anywhere to disable this... Please help.
So after the update at the dealer my heated seats are working like they are supposed to. After automatically turning on I am now able to shut them off. It has only been a dozen times or so though so we shall see.
Last night the seat and steering wheel heaters messed up again. Back to the dealer. Weird thing is the rear defrost always works like it should.
There should be a software update coming for Uconnect 5.0 which will allow control of the heated seats and heated steering wheel.
Yes, I have the same exact issue!!!!

Hey all

My Trailhawk with passive go seems to have a weird issue with the heated seat.

I have the leather package with includes the equivalent of the cold weather package. When I start the car and the temperate is below 41 degrees, it turns on the heated seats, defroster, and wheel as expected. This is the precise reason I got the packages I did and love this feature.

BUT!! .....

If the heated steering wheel is turned on automatically I cannot shut it off! The seat and defroster can be turned off after the car has started but the wheel can't.

For example: let's say I remote start the car. Let it turn a few minutes. Press unlock. Climb in the car. Press the start / run button. Put vehicle in drive. Drive. The wheel is on, but cannot be turned off!

Or let's say I just unlock the car, climb in, and start the car. The cold weather options all turn on as supposed to, but the wheel can't be turned off even when not remote started.

Anyone else with this issue?

I took a video of mine acting up. Hopefully JeepCares can help as my dealer has not been able to find a solution yet.
I have the cold weather package and don't have this problem. The heated seats and steering wheel heater will come on automatically but I can shut any and all of them off without a problem.
