vailTRD unfortunately I have bad news. All I can tell you is now I am driving a brand new 2016 and no longer the 2015. I can't come out and say what happened but I hope that you can read between the lines.

The really shitty part is FCA has not fixed the issue on the 2016's either. Currently my 2016 Renegade has been at the dealer for this issue for a week and counting.

Hmm... What is your next course of action if the new renegade is not fixed?

Kyle-
I have read this entire thread and am having the same exact issue as you have described with my '16 1.4t latitude. Please tell me you have found a resolution! To be honest, I haven't bothered with the dealer as I already know how it will go down with them playing dumb. Just don't have the time or energy for that. I will send you this in a pm as well so hopefully you see it. Thanks
Hi vailTRD,

If you decide to visit your local dealership I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed! Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

My wife has a 2016 Limited. I think the manufacture date is 12/2015. I did the U Connect Update and had brought it to the dealer for transmission and ECM updates. Her heated seats and Heated steering wheel come on and I can turn both of them off. I do like this feature but there should be more control over it in the settings menu. Her Lincoln had that. It did drive me crazy reading in the U Connect manual that there is a setting but I'll be damned if it's there lol !

Got it to act up at the dealer and showed them the problem. They said some "value missing" codes were being generated from the radio so they are replacing it. They are not sure it will fix the problem but this is step 1 to figuring it out. I'll keep everyone posted. Radio should be in by the end of the week.

Thanks for the update Kyle. Mine is currently at the dealership being looked at as well for this along with another recurring issue. Just a side note, my check engine light and a flashing throttle control light comes on frequently when I'm driving too. Whatever, I'm standing my ground on a resolution! Currently been in the dealership for a week. Hoping it just stays there as the grand Cherokee limited rental I have is pretty sweet!

Hi - sorry to revive this old thread but wanted to know if anyone found any resolution besides ditching their Renegade. After several Star cases thru then FCA, being told multiple times to just take it to the dealer, having been to 3 dealers and basically just being blown off in any serious attempt to fix it (uploaded new software, changed switch module, can't test because it is not cold enough, etc) and being told it now works when it does not I am just curious if anyone has had this fixed. We decided to not part with the vehicle, but my arthritis in my hands hates winter and this vehicle. So after almost 8 years of trying I have gotten nowhere. Anyone have any success???

Hi - and thanks for responding. Excuse me for being frustrated, but after 8 years of requests and patience to have this addressed what can really be done at this point? I know I should have parted with the vehicle back in 2015 when it could not be fixed, but I had a personal reason to keep it - think terminally ill wife who loved the car.....

The car will be back at the dealership for PA state inspection, and for probably the 12th time I will be making a request to fix the heated steering wheel - if you can help have this fixed how do we proceed?

so if you remote start. than turn car on. your buttons dont work?

can you turn the car on manually and push the buttons?

have you replaced the fuse?
If I remote start and temp is below 40F the heated steering wheel comes on automatically and cannot be turned off until temp is above 40F. Same happens with manual start. I have not replaced any fuses.
