White sludge would be an indicator of water and/or coolant in the oil.

 

Have you any discolouring in the expansion tank for the cooling system? That is also an indicator of oil and water mixing. Have you taken the oil filler cap off and had a look at that? You get the white sludge on there also when oil and water mix. Seen plenty of those in my time when I was in the trade.
