Hey everyone, I havnt posted on here before but I figured this would be a good place to see if anyone else was having the same problem as i do. I have a 2017 renegade sport, with the 5.0 uconnect (not sure if it matters) but the problem I have is that every once in a while when I start my renegade it will pop up (it's random and not extremely frequent) in the dashboard with sound system unavailable, and then only half my speakers will not work. If I turn it off and leave it for a while it will fix itself usually, it sometimes it can stay on for a day or two. When I took it to the dealer for a different problem they told me the only only thing they could do would be to replace the whole radio unit and even then they weren't 100% sure it would fix it. I guess I just am getting tired of it happening and would like to know if I am the only one expitencing this and if anyone would have a solution. Any response is welcome and appreciated, thank you all.

My experience has been a little different. I have the 2016 75th Anniversary
When I get in and power up my jeep almost 90% of the time I have no sound. I have to power down then right back up and it corrects itself.
Also when I get a phone call after the call ends I have no sound. Then I recycle again.

If the dealer is willing to replace the radio....for free....I'd be jumping all over that !! If they want to charge you, that's a different story; these radio's ain't cheap.

Did you find a solution! ?! I now understand the frustration.... 😡
Kinda, I finally decided to take it in a couple months after the original post. For me it was just a wire that had frayed I believe and they end up just repairing the wire. Had no problems with it for a while but the other day, it came on again but has ceased to happen again and seemed like an isolated thing. The fix, assuming that yours has the same issue was too expensive, less than $300. They actually almost gave up on it and the last thing they decided to do# which I don't know why it wasn't the first, was to take the door panel off and actually look at the wires and speaker.

Hmmm, 2 days ago I am sure I read on the forum of a solution that easily resets the radio.

Time to search!
If you find a solution can you please share? I have had my 2017 for 2 years (2nd owner) and the system unavailable has come in a couple of times but then went out when I replaced the tag light (odd I KNOW!). About a week before Christmas it came on, left side speaker not working and so I started researching on forum. If 15k people are reporting on HERE. and Jeep isn’t offering a solution, how many DIDNT report on here and just traded theirs off frustrated and bought a Ford or Chevy?! We just bought a new Wrangler and now I’m thinking about trading my Renegade because I am so frustrated with it. Granted this is first major type of issue that I can’t fix, but it makes my hands free use for GPS, phone calls, or just enjoying music a total bummer.
Thanks for letting me vent! Please share fox if you find one!!

I just want to hop in here and say this issue was the precursor to having complete electrical failure! Solved by disconnecting the battery for a couple hours etc and we've not had an issue with it again for nearly a year.
