I'm in the UK and had a can of goo and compressor with mine. Ideally I'd like a full size steel but bought a space saver and higher boot floor from the dealer. Not ideal.
hi Oggy, sorry yes I should have mentioned I ordered the optional full size spare, for my Trailhawk.

I also ordered the removable towbar, which comes with a black polystyrene holder that fits inside the full size spare tyre.

I've since turned over my spare in the boot, having read about that on here :) The holder still fits in the centre, resting on the inside of the steel rim, but there's now plenty of space inside the rim where I have my tow ropes and roof bar straps, spare coat, high vis and other junk etc etc.

Purchased spare tire

I have a 2015 Latitude. I purchased a spare tire kit a few months ago from my Jeep dealer, it cost around $400 which included installing the kit in the rear floor. The bag for the roof panels now hangs in my garage - I would rather have the spare tire.

I bought a kit on Amazon for under $300 which includes a jack, a case for the jack that has slots for the funnel and the lug nut lock and the screwdriver, the narrow but otherwise full size spare. unscrew one bolt over the cover for the spare tire well, drop in the spare. I put mine so the empty side of the wheel is up to give more storage. It comes with the right size bolt to do this and other bolts if you don't want to do this. I had to take out the plastic tray with little square storage things, but it all fit around the spare tire with room to spare. I put the thin cover back over the spare and jack and inflation kit and a small tool bag for extra tools, and bungy cords, etc. Then I put a larger emergency medical kit on top of that cover and then slid the heavier cargo floor back in its slot. There is still lots of room under the cargo floor and left over space around the tire. 10 minutes.

I got the 2017 Renegade Altitude edition with 18-inch tires, and I am really uncomfortable with the tire kit without a spare tire and jack. Not driving like a maniac, but if the tire gets ripped in the backcountry, the kit is useless.

Called one dealership, and they say the kit # 82214679AC is not compatible with my car. Called another dealership and they say its just a doughnut and its ok to drive it if the tire is much smaller than the other 18 inch tires. Called Jeep customer service and they said the part is not showing up against my VIN so it is not compatible, but to go to the dealership that said it does and they will be liable... Are they kidding me? this is very confusing.

Are you a renegade owner with 18-inch tires? what did you do for a spare (and parts needed like a jack etc.)?

When I picked up mine I had them put the skinny + jack kit in. 190 Euros inc taxes.

My understanding was that a full sized 18" wheel will not fit in the well.
But the kit comes with 2 retaining bolts: One for skinny and a longer one for a full sized.

Maybe the best thing to do would be to take one of your 18s off and see if it fits.

Maybe it's only that it doesn't sit flush?

If you want a laugh about such design issues check out what JLR did to accommodate a full-size spare in the F-Pace:

If the car included a jack I would take one off and check if it fits, but the cheapo FCA didn't include it.

That picture is hilarious thanks for the good laugh

Just got a call back from another dealer and they said since mine is an AWD the kit is not ok to use because it will ruin the AWD system and I should just go to a tire store and get a similar size wheel and tire that will be identical to mine and buy a universal jack / tool kit as well.

This is becoming more fun by the day :|

My opinion is that any crappy snow tire would be far superior to any temporary spare. If it's the same size as the other tires you shouldn't have problems.
If, along the trip, one of your regular tires gets a puncture, I'd consider stopping at a shop to see if it could be fixed - as opposed to driving thousands of miles on mismatched tires.

Any round thing that attaches to the hub and holds your vehicle up is better than no spare at all.

Hey guys, I have one more quick question

Will a spare tire fit in the wheel well inside the Renegade Sport? Right now it currently has the tire repair kit with inflator.

Thanks again
Full size spare has a different tray under the cargo floor. You'd likely have to ditch the tray depending on how it is designed. The floor would move up to the raised notch compared to the no-spare setup unless they changed the way it works in the 17.

That is exactly what I did to fit my full-sized spare - works well!

Do you need a TPMS on a spare?

I'm waiting my UK Trailhawk that does not come with a spare, so I have ordered a normal full size TH wheel with tyre. I have never had tyre pressure monitors before, so I don't know if I need one for a spare. Will the car drive OK as normal when receiving only 3 signals when it is expecting 4, or will if flash error lights, limit the speed, refuse to go, or what?
