Jeep Renegade Sport Roof Rails

Just wanted to let you guys know, I chatted with customer support on Jeep.com and asked why the rails are listed as a add on for $195 when building the vehicle, but almost $1000 after. I was given the answer, 'due to shipping and stocking costs mixed with the dealer's price'.

After I got that response I continued to ask why they charge so much, then the customer support rep opened a case to get cost assistance for roof rails, which is looking hopeful.

On the other hand I don't really care for them as I have already ordered my rack system from Yakima, I'm just trying to find out if they'll actually give you a lower price.

Here is what I have for my rack:
-Yakima Landing Pad 11
-Yakima Control Tower
-Yakima SKS Lock Cores for Yakima Rooftop Car Racks
-Yakima 48" Round Crossbar (the end caps for the round bar come with the control tower order)
-Yakima LoadWarrior cargo basket (44" x 39" wide)
-Yakima LoadWarrior extension (adds 18" of length)
-Yakima Locking Brasket (so my basket stays home!)

I got everything except the Landing Pad 11 off of Amazon because if you total it out and compare to Yakima or their distributors its saves A LOT. I think i saved around $300.

I got the Landing Pad 11 from rackattack.com. I came really fast!

You will have to drill through the black track strips on each side of the roof just to get to the threaded holes underneath (so 4 small holes)

Update: This is what I heard about buying a rails from the dealer after my case went through to Jeep.com

'Carina: Ok so I did hear back from my supervisor. FCA is going to assist as one time goodwill gesture.
Carina: If parts and labor are under $1500 we will assist in a 50/50 co-pay reimbursement with you. If the price parts and labor is over $1500 we will assist in only $750 reimbursement of the bill. '

So they'll reimburse you up to $750 for parts and installation

My Sport didnt come with the rails! The options were so limited and i thought no biggie! Now i keep bumping into the same issue ans when i try to find the rails, only racks come up! Obviously without rails I can't mount racks or cross bars!!! Please heeeelp! Any after market solutions????

Look on eBay. There are aftermarket on there. Or bone yard. I have a sport. Got them on eBay. About $100. Easy install, great directions.
