My dad works at TNAP, home of Cherokee and Wrangler. He mentioned to me on the phone this evening that he saw a truck load of Renegades on Interstate 75 North heading towards Toledo on his way to work this afternoon.

I wonder if they're going to dealerships in Toledo for delivery or if they're going to Auburn Hills for some kind of shindig going down at HQ...

...on a different note - man, I cannot wait until this Christmas when I (hopefully) have a Sierra Blue Trailhawk with all the goodies in the driveway.

Also, a close friend of mine who works at a Chrysler dealership told me they cannot custom order Renegades. If you want a custom Renegade, you have to wait for Jeep to build the one you want and "tag" it before another dealership does.


Is it me, or does this sound ridiculous?

Thanks for sharing! Really glad to hear about a sighting in my home state that doesn't involve a crash (hence the turnpike car carrier accident)
If that's really the case about not being able to order...that's plain stupid imo. They better be producing a buttload of 'em cause I'm sure there plenty of us who want ours a certain way :/

That's almost exactly what I want! Anvil, take off the safety group. Hopefully we'll both be able to find one with those options.

just read that the Brazil plant is supposed to start up at the end of April and it only makes Renegades. I wonder if not being able to order a custom one is just a temporary impossibility until that plant gets into full swing.

That does seem like kind of a stupid way to go about production. Why not build some of them to order instead of building random models. I think that it would be a better way to keep your customers happy.

Its exactly the way Kia distributes its cars. I waited 4 months for the Kia I "requested".

It may be better to buy from a high volume dealer in this case than from a dealer with a quality service department. Great if you can find both. Start searching!

Just had 2 dealers respond to my emails saying they could take orders starting today and to get back to them if/when I wanted to order one. Nor sure what to believe now...

Well that's more than interesting. Where are you and what's the full name of the dealership you are talking about? And fyi you need to go check em out and be certain to make a note of what the EPA listing is on the window stickers and report back to everyone here on the forum. When you do please make certain to note what engines they have, two wheel drive or four wheel drive and manual tranny or automatic. EPA ratings are a big interst to many here on the forum. HEY!!!! Yark is where I'm buying from! One of my friends is a salesman there, he's been keeping me posted on what's happening.

However, I asked him about this and he said he isn't aware of this happening - he also mentioned Yark's "Ride and Drive" isn't until June. Then finished by saying "Then again, I don't know everything that goes on here."


I really hope they are there. I'll have to pop up and poke/prod around...

Hope the truck full of Renegades that was involved in the pileup in Berlin Heights (on Valentine's) wasn't destined for Yark.
