Understand FCA just issued recall due to stalling issues and possible wire harness problem.

Mine has been in shop for 14 days to fix oil cooler rupture, guess I will be first in line.

That's interesting, I can't say for sure as it took me by surprise and I was focused on the oncoming cars. Has only happened to me once but the next time it does I will keep an eye out for it and post back here.
I think we should all report this. Mine does this too but it's not just when you make a turn. There is a 2 second delay like that or when you want to pass someone on the highway and I think that is a huge safety issue. Can easy cause an accident!

2016 Trail Hawk Renegade - trying to make a right turn today- CUT OUT!

Hi All,
I was on a lunch run today and at a intersection, I went to turn right and I had no power to turn. It scared me so bad! I did not see any lights come on, and made sure I hadn't knocked it out of drive.
I have put over 1000 miles on this Jeep since I bought it and today is the first time I have felt it. I bought this used and I am scared of this happenig again :( From the reviews I have read, it sounds like this needs to be fixed but dealerships are not doing anything about it.

Hi lbugz,

Sorry to hear about this, there is a TSB on select vehicles that may relate to the concern you are describing:

"NUMBER: 05-002-17

SUBJECT:
Flash: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Enhancements

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe one or more of the following:

If you would like to send us a PM with your VIN I'd be happy to check if this TSB applies to your vehicle!

I bought my 2016 renegade brand new last yr. in the past month i have had this happen to me twice. When i pressed the break and then released to press the gas the vehicle did not respond. it sort've jsut sat there in Neutral. it was scary because there were cars coming behind me, much faster who couldve easily slammed into the back of me if they were not paying attention. after about 6 seconds the car "unstalled" and responded to me pushing the gas. the second time this happened, right after the stall my lights on the inside cut out and my radio screen went black/blank/music stopped. any idea what could be going on?

I have had this occur a number of times....always when I floored it, usually from a first gear situation (auto) where it was critical to get out of someone's way! Scared the bejezus out of me. It was like the tranny was "stunned" , didn't know what to do...trying to decide between staying in first and shifting to second!
Dealer reprogrammed the tranny computer (actually erased what it had learned and reset to factory settings).
That helped for a few months, but it finally cropped up again. Suspect tranny eventually re-learned my wife's driving habits....she is not agressive in critical situations. Like most people, she hits the brake in critical situation instead of speeding up to avoid it.
