Excessive rust on my (2015 Renegade with 28000mls on the clock) steering knuckle or normal for salty winter roads?

Top pic is my steering knuckle showing the ball joint. I've noticed what seems to be a small hole forming or is it an imperfection in the casting?

I've taken a screenshot of a steering knuckle that was on sale on the net which also appears to have an imperfection around the same spot.

Is this normal or something I should be worried about?

At 2800 miles? Were those 2800 miles all driven in the ocean? Jeez.

As for the pics, I can't tell if that it a hole on yours, but on the one from the web, it's a shadow from the square bit that pokes out.
