Your Jeep is working within normal confines.

I too had the same error messages at -11 degrees centigrade recently.

The same button on my Renegade sits on the centre console.

I was thinking I had confused the topic with something unknown to me on our Renegades.

On the US models it defaults to on at each key on cycle, so it needs to be switched off manually. I think people are trying to avoid the need to continually turn it off.

Ahh that makes sense. Whereas the UK model stays OFF until manually reactuated.
