OK I have to ask.. what is an N/S wheel. Mine only point north south when driving that way. Like you have a driver side, passenger side, port and starboard, left and right.

Generally hollow and/or bassy rubbing is usually a fender liner, tinny and or squaly is wear indicator tab.

I've only gotten a rubbing sound from a wheel when something has gotten in there and if it rained and the rotors rusted up when my front pads were very near end of life.

Take it for a spin around the neighborhood trying not to brake too much. WHen you park, feel the center of the wheel. If the noisy side is hot and the other side is not, a bearing isn't happy.

Also, is it speed dependent or RPM dependant?
