maybe its me, but I do not see how they can include some of the models in that list as sub-compact. What's their criteria? Length? Some of those are way too long to be considered a sub-compact.

The article says that the marketplace for subcompact crossovers is blowing up. Well when you consider that the prices for sedans are in the same ballpark as small SUVS that give good gas milage, more cargo space, more ground clearance, and the option of AWD it's no wonder!

Love this quote from the buyer's guide: "Yes, folks, a fuel efficient, 4x4, manual, wagon-like CUV. The automotive gods have listened." I agree--this is exactly what I was looking for. Not too small, not too big, relatively easy on gas, 4WD--and it comes with a manual!
