You're judging an unfinished project take a look at the escape addition renegade in another post it's Awesome!! Nothing comical about it....
Except they advise a tire size smaller than the cool looking one they put on it. With the pics in this thread, I can tell you that warning plus the apparent clearance to that flange in the rear of the fender well don't give me warm fuzzies about your tire remaining unscathed if you make use of the bump stops or cut the wheel really hard left or right.

It's interesting, but I think there's a lot more info needed to declare that there's a viable retail lift kit that's going to show up. By viable I mean something that doesn't turn the vehicle into a death trap, shred your tires, actually lets you put bigger tires on the thing, and doesn't cost an absurd amount to install without giving you proportionate benefit.

Whats with all the negativity about a lift kit this is a small 2 or 3 inch lift, and as far as tire and wheels go there are lots of options rim size, off set, tire size I have lifted and lowered many vehicles over the years and i'm well aware of chamber and alignment problems causing abnormal tire wear.
Yes we still do need more info but I think it will be doable!!
If your not into a lifted or customize vehicle no need to come in here and bash it some people enjoy customizing and the challenges that come with it...

I think it's more skepticism and concern and not getting ones hopes up (and maybe tempering the enthusiasm of the less informed who will).

The only thing to date indicating that a lift might be streetable is a single ad for a vehicle that appears to be lifted a teeny bit. Even the people who built that one suggest tires other than what is in the pictures. Those tires may look stupid or they may not. What we can say is that even including the diameter recommended by them in addition to what comes on the vehicle form the factory, there are not a lot of tire options that fall in the realm of cool looking knobby off road goodness. Spacers can get you space, but they often do so at the cost of wheel bearings. If the one salable example to date tried that and killed some bearings already, that's an issue given what parts supply is likely to be for a while. That may not be why they recommend against the tires in the pictures, but it is certainly one of the possibilities.

Is there hope? Yeah. Can we declare victory yet? No.

Beyond that, I think there is the real possibility that despite the lift being achieved, there are no really suitable tires to finish the look on the market (I haven't found anything cool in 225/65/17 or anything that is stock diameter without going to a 15" rim, which likely won't fit over the brakes). If the renegade ships 100k units, they'll show up. If it ships 30k, they probably won't.
