My name is John and I have been a jeep owner for twenty years. I just bought a Trailhawk and gave up my wrangler. Now I'm worried about the trailhawk because I'm only getting about 16mpg. Is it going to get to 24 or am I doomed.

16 sounds way out of line, assuming you have reset the meter (mine started at 17 but went right up when I reset it).

I remember hearing of an issue where a software update helped with the gas mileage. Hopefully, one of the people who has had this issue will answer, but if not I'd search the boards.

Wow, at 16mpg your Wrangler would have been better to stay with.

I am driving a much smaller engine here in Europe 1.6 multijet 2 with 5.5 liters/100 km on average which is about 2.32 gallons / 100 miles.

Well hopefully he gets it checked out as that does not seem right at all. Mine averages 24 for city only driving.
