Just purchased a Latitude 4x4 and seeing that I am the vehicle guy caring for all our vehicles, I will be rotating the tires soon enough. I have a TPMS relearn tool for all our GM vehicles and need to know if it will work on the Renegade.
I looked through the online owners manual and it says nothing about TPMS relearn. Do they relearn tire position on their own? is there a procedure? is there a tool?
THANKS

Tom, I just put on a set of Renegade take-offs. After a dozen miles I suddenly remembered to expect a TPMS light but it never came on. Checked the dash and saw the car 'learned' all four wheels without any input from me.

Dont ask me how that came to be as the owner's manual says NOTHING about relearning the sensors. This time I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Just be thankful if it goes this way for you.

Good luck!

Mopars in general auto-relearn, unless there is a problem with a sensor, or the receiving computer.. Def some of the easiest TPMS systems we work with. Drive to reset!

As a Gm guy I was used to fooling around with the tpms. prior to 2012 you had to use a learn mode, then let air out of all four tires in order until the horn chirped, after 2012 you had to use a relearn tool and do a dance around the vehicle. Who knew it could be so EZ.

Hi All,

Has anyone installed new TPMS on their 2015-on Renegade?

We've got the evil version of the Renegade (Fiat 500X), and Fiat people aren't anywhere near as mechanically inclined as Jeep folks. Fiat people talk more about air fresheners and fashion accessories. Sigh...

The Fiat is the only car of the 5 in my driveway newer than 20 years. TPMS is driving me nuts as I price out new steel wheels and snow tires. We use the same TPMS and wheels as the Jeep. Figuring out how to make the car recognize the stuff is driving me crazy!

Thanks!

I have 6 tires (Full Size Spare + 1 Extra) for my Trailhawk, I rotate 2 out and 2 in from time to time. I had to buy a TPMS from the dealer and have it installed on the extra tire. The part was roughly $90 and I can attest that they auto relearn.

Thanks, All!

You guys are waaay more helpful than the Fiat folks! :)

If it helps, the friendly dealership website that I buy genuine parts for my 20-30 year old Volvos does Mopar as well (and Ford): tascaparts.com. You gotta know the p/n's but they sell cheap. $67 per TPMS sensor and $89 per steel wheel vs the $124 our Fiat dealer is trying to sell us. Sigh!

Thanks again!

They are a good bunch on here and will do their best to help.

I used to specialise in the older Volvos, from the 740/760 back to the older stuff. My overheads were lower and therefore my labour rates were lower, so folks could afford to have the older Volvos maintained regularly. I'm retired now on medical grounds and I do miss spannering.
