I know that the UK trailhawk version (Europe as well?) doesn't have the red tow bars at the front. Does anyone know if this is a legal thing? or is more a styling thing/decision by FCA?

Could they be added as an aftermarket accessory?

I was at my local dealer today and was looking at a black one, and I agree it doesn't stick out much but the cut out seemed rather large. I should have asked, given the size of the cut out it looked as though there may be a panel that could be fitted if it was removable.

I have ordered a black trailhawk. How did it look?

I just noticed in the manual that the Trailhawk has a permanently fitted front tow hook, behind a panel on the right side. I wonder if it is the same type as the North American market get.

Forget all that. I just checked it on my computer rather than my phone. There is only one removable front hook on the UK Trailhawk the same as other Renegades.

This makes me wonder about the trail rated badge. In a you tube video someone from Jeep said that the hooks are part of what makes it trail rated.

Someone said in another thread on here that it takes more than a badge costing a few cents to make the Jeep Renegade trail rated.
Indeed it does and according to Jeep one of the things is tow hooks.
I wish I could find that video again.
As I don't intend doing any serious off roading, it should not be a problem for me.

You could always move to Wales. You wouldn't need to go offroading, as there are plenty of uneven and potholed roads in Dai Jones' country:D
