Can anybody tell me if you can use the mobile app to remote start (remote start equipped of course. ) your renegade with the 6.5 system? I was thinking you can and a buddy at work has a new cherokee that allows him. The only reason I am questioning it now is that on Uconnects website it says that Uconnect Access Via Mobile option is not available. Gonna be bummed if I can't.

beerwolf70- yes, you can use the mobile Uconnect app on the Renegade to start your vehicle, lock/unlock doors, honk horn/flash-lights. A feature that we might get in the future with upgraded software is vehicle locator and vehicle history report/diagnostic. The mobile apps such as Pandora, slacker, Aha, etc are not embedded or pre-loaded into system. The 6.5 is not capable right now of running those apps but might in the near future. Speaking of that (future software upgrade). How is that done? OTA (over the air) or at the dealership?

I believe most software updates are available online. You download the software onto a flash drive and update the software yourself. Dealerships can do it also, so if your vehicle is in for service or something you can ask to see if your software needs updated

One year later, UConnect states directly that ALL via mobile apps (well, the 4 companies UConnect conned into believing there would be a UConnect "app store") are BLOCKED on Jeep Renegades.
