Uconnect 6.5 - s/w version

I have a question for my European colleagues who have already taken delivery of a new Renegade.

As I went through the set-up on mine, it quickly became apparent that the Owner's Manual did not align with the screens in my Uconnect 6.5. I suspect this is partially due to the differences by country and the inability of the documentation guys to keep pace with the software guys.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. My Uconnect is running s/w 10.50.30 and seems to be missing at least two key features:
- Lock with Flash Lights & Sound Horn
- Cannot set FCW sensitivity

It would be helpful to hear from those who have already taken delivery to see if others have experienced this disconnect between what the owner's manual has documented and what exists in reality.

Might also be good to see what s/w versions exist and where they are showing up by country.

Hello Mike,
lock with flash lights and horn is optional and cannot be added to the Opening edition, the same for the FCW+ that is not present in the Opening Edition. Hope this helps.
If you need SW version next time I'll be in the car I'll write you it.

Unfortunately the flash with lights & horn is not listed as an option anywhere in Jeep's price list. I realize the OE had a fixed set of options but this seems one that cost more to eliminate than include.

As for FCW, the OE reportedly has FCW but NOT the FCW+ feature. It is my understanding that the "radar" piece is missing from the front bumper and that only the camera piece at the top of the windshield is included.

I believe FCW provides ONLY an audible and visual warning, while FCW+ provides the same warnings but is also able to apply the brakes. As such, I am guessing that only FCW+ can have the sensitivity adjusted while FCW must then have a preset sensitivity. Is that your understanding as well?

Please also post your s/w version when you get the chance.

Mike,
some optionals were include in the jeep brochure at the time but things changed. I can confirm you that FCW is not present in the opening edition, there was a debate in Italy about it because at launch many bought the OE thinking it was present but then when they received the car the so called "safety pack" was not present, so in Italy in the OE version are not present Lane departure system and Forward collision warning. As you say FCW works with the radar in the left side of the front bumper, lane departure works with the camera that is place behind the internal rear view mirror, to check if lane departure system works in the central TFT in front of you check if the lane is recognized, It changes color when the camera recognize it.

about the flash and horn, we have it listed as "alarm" in the jeep Configurator, if we do not add this alarm you only have an immobilizer without flashing and horn.

Ciao Giulio,
what you say puzzles me me a bit: I have a Limited version, so a less specy version than OE but i have both of them....
And i can set FCW sensitivity.
The strange world of configurations.... :nerd:

Ciao Giacomo,
OE is a launch version, with fixed optional, the Limited is a configurable version. They simply decided to safe monet and don't add the safety pack to the OE.
