I have my heart set on manual 4x4, so my options are pretty limited in terms of upgrade. I have found out that I can option the 6.5 uconnect nav system to my build for around 1200. I didn't get a chance to really try it out at the dealer, but the sound quality and overall functionality didn't really impress.

For that much scratch, I could build out a pretty nice aftermarket systems. There's a couple of things that make me hesitate to go that route though. Going through the detail sheet, there doesn't seem to be any speaker upgrade with the system

- integration with back up camera
- the look, I imagine it will need some sort of trim piece to make it work, I haven't seen anyone do it and don't even know that it's available yet
- not really sure what I would be missing out without uconnect, other than the possibility of random, remote hijacking

p.s. I think that overhead dedicated 911 button is stoopid, I can already see me getting swatted repeated because of my kids...

am I missing anything else?

Yes there is a bunch of functions that are changed with the Uconnect. Some are whether your fog lights turn on while turning, behavior of electric E-Brake, remote start and different keyless go functions, etc..Mine should show up in a few days so I could give you more examples then. I agree it kind of sucks that they have integrated so many vehicle controls in the head unit that it's virtually impossible to replace.

Hello, I hit the 911 button myself thinking it was the map light, which is behind it (dumb). Went through my 6.5 connected to the police and I said " eh sorry about that, oops"

I do believe it can be cancelled.
As per the Uconnect manual...
In case the “9-1-1” Call button is accidentally pushed, there is a 10 second delay before the 9-1-1 call is placed. The system will verbally alert you that a call is about to be made. To cancel the 9-1-1 Call connection, push the “9-1-1” Call button or press the “Cancellation” button on the Phone touchscreen.
TS out (calling for pizza)
