This review is encouraging for those who want to hear good news because they made up their mind about the product.

However, I feel that it is a review that smells a little strange especially when it comes to reliability matters.

I feel that it is based on emotions rather than studies and stats. It seems as if Europe lives the Jeep Myth from across the ocean and WWII rather than experience its present reality...

For example when we read : "Jeeps are known as tough machines" in my opinion it is a marketing / myth reputation about the brand rather than reality based on numbers

I am a Jeep owner among Jeep owners around me and the brand suffers from reliability very unfortunately

I hope the Renegade will prove me wrong because the TH is a good looking SUV

My suggestion is to wait for the 2nd year model before getting this new design. By then stats will show how it does in terms of early reliability... The Cherokee is a living example of that fact.

Yet there is also the longevity factor and how the car will age while one is still paying its lease or purchase

The Renegade is not the first Jeep to come to Europe: we've been having jeeps ever since before the SUV era, they were the first luxury (Cherokee and Grand Cherokee) SUV even before BMW, VW and Audi joined the segment.
They are perceived here as rather expensive, robust yet a bit basic in terms of finishing, reliable cars for those who need a traditional offroader - they have gained a reputation of poor drivability/stability on asphalt, that's why the German brands overtook easily Jeep when SUV became a fashionable trend for those who wanted to use in the cities/motorways.
Having driven the Renegade I can tell handling is not an issue (unlike the Freemont, for example)

Good to know! Then I think they were sending you all these years the reliable productions to compete with the German ones and keeping the unreliable faulty ones to NA :) just kidding indeed

I completely agree with Gunduns comments with regards to the handling of the jeep range of late. When the Cherokee was introduced to Scotland in 1993 it was recognised as the best handling SUV but as the European manufacturers rolled out their fake, with exception of Land Rover, 4x4 products the jeeps were incorrectly measured against these vehicles. Take them all off road and there will be two brands pulling the rest out of the mud. I live rural with an unmade road to my house and need a true 4x4 that won't fall apart crossing large ruts and holes and can get me out in the worst snow. There's a Land Rover dealer 1/4 mile away but for 1/2 the price of anything in the used lot I got what I need from a Cherokee
