Quick question that I hope someone may be able to help me with..


I ordered my TH 3 months ago this Friday. Apart from contacting my dealer a month ago and getting a response back that there would be an update 'sometime in October'...I have heard nothing from them.


In all fairness when I ordered it, they did tell me to expect delivery to be in November, although no date was given. So I am happy to wait.


However, after reading these forums for the past month or two, I keep seeing that people have or are given VON/VIN numbers to be able to track the status of their Jeeps. Can anyone tell me if my dealer should have this and should be able to give this to me?

I am in EXACTLY the same situation. I could repost your message with my name at the top and it would be completely accurate.

The VON is generated when the vehicle is ordered. If they ordered it, they will have this number.

The VIN is generated when your vehicle is built. They may have it, depending on the stage of production. Being that it's been so long, my guess is it's probably tied up in shipping somewhere.

Edit: sorry, it's early and I didn't notice which forum this was in. My above post applies to US orders. Not sure how it works in the UK.

I paid to have tracking on jeepgarage.org. For $25/year, your status will be checked daily and updated. Turned out to not really be worth it for me, since my Jeep got stuck for long periods of time in random spots in the process.

They seem to be able to track worldwide orders, not just US.
