This is a bit random but I've thought about it before and the rain were getting today reminded me to ask. I know the TH has an approximately 0.9 inch lift over the non TH 4x4s, but I noticed in a brochure that the TH can ford 19 inches of water while a non-TH is rated at only 12 inches. Is this simole wire re-routing or something more complex?

I think it has something to do with the engine hydro-locking. The TH can go through 19 Inches of water and not worry about water being sucked up into the intake. Just did that last week for Renegade Training. The great part is that the doors have been sealed so well, that even when submerged, water does not enter the cabin.

Well I don't need the extra water clearance (at least I'd hope so.) I'm just curious as to what goes into making such a difference between the TH and non-TH
Not specific to the Renegade, but usually it has to do with where the air inlet is on the airbox. Obviously, higher it is in the engine bay, chance of water being sucked in is less likely... hence deeper fording ability.
