I noticed some damp on the drivers side rubber heel pad under my mat, after further inspection by opening the vin plate inspection hatch I found a lot of visible water and the sponge sound deadening was soaking wet.
I picked my car up from my supplying dealer in Bristol who have been great sorted me out with another Renegade to drive, the issue was not with water getting in but from the AC condenser water pipe which had come away from the unit so the water you normally see dripping under your car was going in to the floor.
So check in the vin plate for moisture and regularly check under the car that the water is dripping.
They have dried it all out but are going to replace the carpet and the sound deadening which is on order.

Glad that Jeep are rectifying it for you. Is there a long wait for a new carpet and sound deadening? I'm just curious, no other reason. At present I don't suppose a Renegade carpet is a must stock item.

I have this same issue. Water is saturating my passenger side rear carpet and front as well. The dealer is taking care of it.

Would you all with water leak problems post in the following thread about the build date and the area that is the problem so we and get an idea if Jeep is remedying these circumstances.

I dropped off Ren at the dealer service center on Monday the 6th and it is now Friday the 10th. I have not heard a word from them so I tried calling and they said someone would call me back. Here is my latest vlog on this subject: https://youtu.be/bGvmstFmoPw?list=PLAMAeWsS_hS1mKT9-qj0Dvg9dEH409gvW

Can this be considered a defect? At what point can it be called a lemon?

Look up your lemon laws. It harms the resale value of the vehicle because water logging the vehicle is bad. So it probably makes the cut for most lemon laws. The clock is then ticking for time in the shop to solve the issue and number of attempts. Where they cross the line is a matter of your state's laws.

Have you PMed JeepCares here? They are a jeep social media rep who might be able to help you get this taken a bit more seriously.

As of late yesterday they are now saying there is a 2nd drain line that was directed wrong & it's draining into the car under the dash.
I don't know much about cars but seems weird that there would be 2 a/c drain lines....
I have called the service manager & he's not available. So I texted him to call me. I will update when I talk to him. Thank you for your help & advice.

My Renegade is still in the shop! They found a cracked A/C drain line or so they say. I was promised it would be ready today. Found out 20 minutes before I was heading over there that it's till not ready. They are saying it will be ready tomorrow but then asked if they could get me a rental....makes me not believe them about tomorrow. I made my first payment today, but haven't had my jeep since the 13th. Not a happy Renegade owner right now!

I'm telling you man, you should tell them what you want. If you want a new Renegade, then demand it. If you want a completely different model, then demand it. That's my 2 cents.

In my case I told them I didn't want the defective Renegade I was sold. so the manufacturer is buying it back and the dealer is setting me up with a new vehicle at the price I was paying. I think they may even give me an upgrade for my pain and suffering.

You are the consumer so get what you pay for.

You mentioned:
I’m just happy I will be getting a new Jeep with NO PARTS MISSING!
what parts were missing?

Believe me I have told them that many times. Both Chrysler customer service & the dealership. I was told that the issue mine has is not enough for them to buy it back and that it is repairable. Chrysler customer service said I would have to take it back multiple times before that option would apply. I am not done yet, just waiting to get it back so I can see if I still have issues.

I may be one step closer to not being a Renegade owner anymore. I got my jeep back Saturday after they supposedly replaced the cracked a/c drain line. Here it is 3 days later and my floorboards are soaking wet again. I have already texted the service manager who hasn't responded yet. Left a message for Jodi at Chrysler Care & sent a message to JeepCares here on this forum. I am done playing games with these people. Made my 1st car payment last Friday when I hadn't had my car for two weeks now it's going back into the shop. Not acceptable.
