Rained like **** today, rained sideways, rained upside down. Came out to the Jeep after work today, opened the driver's door, and SPLOOSH. About a cup of water rushed out. Same on the other three doors too. Under the hatch was dry. Interior was completely dry. Anyone else having this issue?

Same thing here. Heavy thunderstorm during the night and (I just read this thread yesterday...) this morning I opened the door and... Sploosh! ;)
Interiors dry, everything else dry. Doors drains seems to be ok, hope it's a "gutter pipe effect" of the door itself.

Guys, I'm curious would the issue you guys are having with water in the doors spill over to the rear floor of the cabin?

Reason I ask is this video shows water on the floor of his Renegade and I'm at a lost as to what can cause that.

I havent had any water actually enter the cabin, it all gets caught in the bottom of the door sills (all four doors, not in the rear hatch) where the weather stripping meets the body.

Not this thread's issue. Not unless his weather stripping was seriously messed up. It could be the issue another person experienced with the AC condensation drain line being disconnected.

My wife's Taurus X has had the same "issue" for 7 years. The Winter never posed a problem, unless the temperature rose above freezing. The doors hold water while closed and on an incline, but it never enters the cabin. When you open a door, there could be a small deluge from the lower drains. I don't think it's a problem, I lived with it a while now.

I posted this on the quality issues thread but I feel it should have been posted here.
I would hope that the issue of water in the doors would be answered by the Jeep design team.
Let me ask if the rubber seal that wipes condensation off the window as one lowers and raises it works to wipe the window. Has anyone who has water in the doors checked this?
I have had different cars that will do this well and not well. My RAV4 does not wipe the condensation and does not have any drain holes in the doors.

water?

The salesman I've been talking to recently went to a Jeep training event on the Renegade. Part of the training had them driving thru a tank of 19 inch deep water and no water entered the cabin. He stuck a GoPro out the window and it was quite impressive watching the Renegade go down the ramp and wade across the pool. He points out that the triple seal on the door is designed to keep water out of the cabin.
While it is obvious that some owners have had issues with water entry, I'm not sure it has anything to do with water entering the doors.
Crank-down window seals are never perfect so good drains at the bottom of the door are a necessity as are proper anti-corrosion treatments on the inside.
Tracking down the entry point for a water leak can be quite a pain. Without removing some of the interior trim it is more luck than anything if you find it.

Good luck!

We've been getting tons of rain in Tampa and my doors also do that, though thankfully it's never got in the cabin so I'm not going to complain. Probably just a poor drain design, or maybe that's how they had to do it to keep water out for water crossings like mentioned in the last post. Glad to know it's not just mine though!

Is anyone able to take a picture of where the water leaves the door? I'm kicking the tires on buying a trailhawk soon and this forum has been instrumental on educating me on what I need to validate with the dealer before I invest.

Thanks!

Any rememdy for water in the door jams?

I've been shopping the Renegade and noticed this when I went test drive one. I had the dealer open the doors to the Renegade next to the one I test drove just to see if it was just a defect in the one I test drove. Both had water fall out when the doors were open. He had no explanation. I worry if I purchase this vehicle if this defect with lead to rusting/corrosion. Has anyone spoke to Jeep for a remedy?

I found where mine drains. I have the exact problem like in that video. I poored water on the rear right door and and watched where it went. Apparently it drains from the bottom of the inside trim piece. So it's literally draining into the car and not outside of the car.
