My Jeep is haunted I think...:)

Yesterday the Alarm was going off, I couldn't switch it off and had to manually use the key to get me in.. The engine wouldn't start and my front windows wouldn't go down. I called assistance.. About 1hr beforee they turned up I went back out and the car was opening normally and starting but a warning light about the alarm was on. When the guy arrived from the recovery company the car was back to normal..!!! I felt a right numpty...

It is going in to be checked tomorrow though....

Sounds like a glitch, hopefully nothing too serious.

I went out one morning to discover the passenger window had decided to open itself during the night (nissan juke). I knew I hadn't done it myself. Found out on a juke forum that other people had experienced it too. Strangely it was a one off in my case.
The same car also went into 'limp mode' and I called nissan who sent someone out. The car was fine by the time he got here but they took it in for checks and it was a computer component that needed replaced.

I disagree. I had a 2008 Liberty that had the same symptoms... it was a bad TIPM. That's a $700 part to replace yourself. Way more to have a dealer do it.

I would take that VERY seriously after my experience with my last Jeep.

Sorry to hear that after 4 days, I know that the alarm software fix did not work on the diesel UK cars and that's why yours was delayed a bit longer I have a 1.4 petrol.
Get it back to the dealer ASAP and make sure you also log it with Jeep customer services and your not happy.
I'm taking mine in to my dealer tomorrow as I'm not happy with the brakes they have no feel at low speed and have not got any better now I have done 500 miles and bedded them in:(

In Europe nearly all manufactures offer at least a 3 year 60 or 100 thousand mile warranty as standard when you by a new car, and this can be extended further.
What do you guys get in the US?
It is standard with 3yr/36k basic warranty and 5yr/100k powertrain. However it's $2800 with a $100 deductible to extend the basic to 7yr/70k, and $1000 with $100 to extend the powertrain to limited lifetime. I'm definitely doing the upgraded basic, however idk if the lifetime powertrain is worth it. It's not transferable so it won't help resale, and I may not have the Renegade for more than 7 yrs.

This isn't always the case... Maintaining a warranty with a manufacturer is a sign that proper maintenance and repairs were done as necessary.

I've been thinking over these quite a bit recently. Where did you find the lifetime powertrain deal for $1000? I was looking at Maximum Care Plans and they seem to hover just below $3k.

Just when doing paperwork with my dealer. It's possible that that was the price to extend it to 7yr or 10yr.
