I low-balled a guy on Craigslist for his brand new Yakima RailGrabs, Roundbars, locks, and fairing and he took $150! These are normally $460.

Picked them up and installed them on the way to a state park.

He was heartbroken when I installed them. He sold them at such a discount because he didn't understand how to properly fit them to his vehicle and was tired of trying. Felt bad for the guy, but SCORE!

I washed mine (it had rained most of the work week).

By the way, I am still on the fence about peeling off the hood decal on my silver Trailhawk. I'm just not one for stripes of any kind on a car (even painted).

What do y' all think?

And if I am going to peel it off, I want to do it before it gets to "old" and hard to remove.

Well, you can see my position above...

It might be worth seeing if you can remove it in a way that wouldn't destroy it.

They are becoming popular with all SUVs and I think I remember someone posting on the wrangler forums about being able to reposition them once they were applied previously, which mean it may have value for one of your fellow local jeep nuts.

If you had the body colored roof, I'd say definitely peel the hood decal off, but since you have the black roof, I think the hood decal looks alright.

But yea, if you're planning on taking it off, do it before the sun starts to fade the surrounding paint.

Nice find PAK, I'm looking into getting some cross bars for mine as well. How easy were these to install? And you mentioned they normally cost $460 for all the parts, do you happen to have the model numbers of the ones you got there?

I took her Tailgating for Opening Day @ Turner Field in Atlanta. She held her own amongst all the Cherokees & Wranglers. Go Bravos!

I have all of the boxes for them. I'll find the model numbers this afternoon, but the item descriptions are:

- RailGrab towers (one size) $171 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001VE6II2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1428846454&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=yakima+railgrab+4+pack+system&dpPl=1&dpID=41Zqr4ltpsL&ref=plSrch

- 48" roundbars $81 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0012SFNDS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1428846413&sr=8-1&keywords=yakima+48+crossbar+pair&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=31COLI-k-yL&ref=plSrch

- 38" fairing (but after seeing it on the jeep, I'd get a 44"... But beggars and lowballers can't be choosers.) $81 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00066Z29W/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1428846534&sr=8-1&keywords=yakima+44+fairing&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=313IcewK4cL&ref=plSrch

- Yakima SKS locks 4 pack. $56 http://www.amazon.com/Yakima-Lock-Cores-Rooftop-Racks/dp/B000AIG9AW

Looks like it would be right at about $400 new on Amazon.

I also looked at the Thule aeroblade that would provide a more exact and more aerodynamic ride at about that same price... But it wasn't on Craigslist. Haha. I believe that model number was 7502.

The nice part is that these fit in any jeep, great as my wife has a Cherokee.

Install would take maybe 10 minutes after figuring it out the first time.

Thanks for the info PAK. I think I will probably purchase the Thule aeroblades...I think the black ones would look nice with my renegade. From there website, they are suggesting the 7503B model, and it looks like they cost $419.90. I couldn't find them cheaper any where else, but I will certainly keep looking. =)

Here is the link to the cross bars:

If you buy an REI membership, there's a 20% off coupon through tomorrow that you can use on them.

It would be worth your time if you have an REI locally.

You could also add a custom Renegade decal, they are now available:

That's sweet, you even have the option to pick a map of your own choosing. I thought it'd be funny to design one of New York City for those of us who have to off-road the urban jungle :) It actually looked pretty cool, but I'll be sticking with the plain black decal.

You seem to know a lot about the exterior features of the renegade, maybe you can answer a question for me. I want a white Limited 4X2, but want the white roof, can I get that?! It doesn't seem to be made, at least not here in the states?! I want MySky as well, but can prob settle without if, if I have the white roof. Also, can you tell me abou this "Monochrome"? I know I would need to special order if I want MySky, but what about A white Limited with white roof?

Thanks so Much Tom,

Diane, from California

Diane,

I just played with the configuration tool on Jeep's US website and there's an option for "Body-color Roof" on the Limited FWD which is a $0 charge. Where are you seeing that it isn't available?

Hi Diane,
It seems like you can on the Jeep configurator:

http://www.jeep.com/hostc/bmo/CUJ201509/models.do?

It lets you select both "Body-Color Roof" and "MySky" under the Exterior Options section. Usually when you can have one option without the other or one option requires the other there is a pop-up.

Also, look in the Feature Spec Sheet:

2015_JP_Renegade_FA.pdf

It shows it is available on the 4x2 Limited:

My Sky with upper body-side accent — body color

Awesome PAK!!! I'm looking into getting a similar set up on mine. Is the Yakima a t-track set up???
Mine had roof rails (not sure if yours does), so I got a RailGrab system that bites down around the rail. I know they make Q-Towers for any vehicle though, so the t-track should work fine.
