My Wife & I own a 2018 Jeep Renegade, It is a nice vehicle other then we had to get a new engine that was replaced for free due to a recall for that year because of a burning the oil problem other then that the only complaint I have is it came without a spare tire, Instead it came with this slime stuff to put in the tire if you get a flat, I wonder what college genus came up with that idea? You would think of all vehicles a Jeep which is used for off road driving would have a spare tire, That slime stuff isn't going to work if you would happen to slit the tire on a rock or tree stump or something, They say they stopped using spare tires to cut down on weight and for fuel economy, As for me I would rather have the extra weight of a spare tire in our Jeep, They do sell kits where you can put a spare tire assembly in the storage department in the rear But I believe a Jeep should come with a spare tire as standard equipment, I think their nonsense is just another way to make money off the cosummer's

We appreciate your comments regarding the tire inflator kit and understand your frustrations. Spare tires are currently available as optional equipment and generally cost less than $300. Your dealership can check availability and current price for you at any time!

It's all old news.

In short, get to the local scrapyard, find a compatible wheel, fit a tyre and that fits perfectly fine, upside down in the existing tyre well. (I/m sure it was a Vauxhall wheel that I got)

You only lose around 2 inches (50mm) in height but you can pack gear around the wheel and inside it like most of us have done.

I do agree that it's shocking that a 4x4 doesn't come with a full sized wheel. Then again not every Jeep is a 4x4 (of sorts)

That "college genius" probably majored in accounting and submitted their recommendation after an all-night number crunching/data manipulating way to save the company money and increase profits for shareholders.

Wait until you find out how much they charge for the refill canister that is always out of stock or on back-order. (Have you checked the expiration date on yours yet?)

Maybe it's just me... but how would you interpret the 06/2022 next to the hour glass? I bought my 2018 in May of 2022 and there was no mention in any Carmax paperwork other than replacing two tires because they didn't meet their specs.

I have always had a spare tire in every vehicle and I've never had to use it since I was a kid and stopped doing stupid crap. I always do a "first echelon" check of my vehicle thanks to being a HVO (Heavy Vehicle Operator) in the Marines. That's when you do a visual walk-around the vehicle and checks light lenses, mirrors, tires, leaks, etc.. I visually look at the tires for nails, cuts, cracks, sitting low, etc., and hook my fingertips in the threads to check depth. Yeah, every time. Only takes seconds.

If I see a nail in a tire, straight to the shop, not "I gotta take care of this" and do it later. Tread getting a little bare ? Don't run with the "I got a few more hundred miles left". Get new tires. You life depends on it.

But I treat spare tires like I treat my First Aid Kit. I may never use it, but I damn sure better have it on every ride.

I refuse to buy the "not included to increase fuel economy" crap they feed us. If the weight of a tire and jack can impact the fuel economy that much, they need to tune the engines better. That's like someone saying, "I put a case of beer in my cargo area and my mileage plummeted !!". These Jeeps are damn near all aluminum and plastic now, I'd welcome a steel full sized wheel. Mine came with the full sized temporary, they could've easily slapped in a regular tire and rim instead. But nope.

I found a Renegade wheel in a junk yard and had a new tire mounted on it. Fits in the well when you remove the top tray. Also bought an extended rod to hold the tire down using the stock round plate. Still had space for jack, lug wrench, and other items for tire change. Feel a whole lot better knowing we have a spare tire on board.

I did like the rest of them with our 2018 Renegade I went to a dismantler and found a matching 18" full size spare took the best tire out of the 4 which I was going to replace anyways as one only had 1000 miles on it got a chunk taken out of the sidewall. Removed the styrofoam that holds the tire repair kit and popped the bolt and washer that hold it down to the cargo floor and popped off the center cap and installed the spare wheel upside down and tightened down the wheel with the bolt and washer from the styrofoam. No squeaks or rattles from the wheel and now I have a peace of mind that I have a spare wheel. I also bought a 2.5 ton jack kit off of Amazon that has a scissor Jack/Tire Iron and comes in a carrying case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DKSSRDS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. I am happy that was the only gripe I have with our Renegade. So now I have 4 Brand New Yokohama Avid Ascent GT and 1 Kumho Crugen Premium but I know the spare is close in miles as to the rest of my new tires.
