2000 pounds, and that requires the 2.4 L
So that's not a crazy big amount but I guess you can't expect too much from such a small vehicle. What type of stuff weighs around 2,000lbs, like what could you tow with the Renegade. A boat? A trailer? ???
Not much.... I would say a pair of Jet Skis, a Small pop up trailer or a snowmobile or to pull your cub cadet around on a trailer or something.
Yes, that is from the official spec sheet. It is all of those and brake capacity. You could try a hemi upgrade, looks like it fits, you just need to snip a little sheet metal:Is that 2000-pound towing limit official from FCA? What is a limited based on: frame structure? engine capacity? cooling mods? All of that? Any reasonable way to increase capacity?
Hey... Omaha Orange is at least the right color for a HEMI!!!Yes, that is from the official spec sheet. It is all of those and brake capacity. You could try a hemi upgrade, looks like it fits, you just need to snip a little sheet metal:

If a Cherokee Trailhawk with the 2.4 is rated for 2000 pounds, I very much doubt the Renegade would be any higher.
It is normal in product development to test your product in excess of the final specification. So if you put a street rating of 2000 pounds tow capacity the you want to stress test it high to see how it behaves. We can’t say for sure, but we’re guessing it’s towing about 2500 pounds with that U-Haul trailer it’s got hooked up in the back. That’s well within the 3,300 pound stated towing capacity for this very off-road worthy crossover vehicle.

For EMEA models
2.0 diesel engines: 1500 kg = 3307 lbs
it should be able to pull a 8 foot U-Haul trailer without much problems. My old Hyundai Excel could do it.So that's not a crazy big amount but I guess you can't expect too much from such a small vehicle.
