[Windshield] Cracked/Busted Windshield THREAD

Got a rock into the windshield on the Hwy this am. I am concerned with the replacement for the TH because of the issues with leaking and wind noise. Also the Big black console behind the rear view mirror has me worried. Will I also lose my Jeep decal in the corner or would it be the same windshield replaced?? Ughhhhhh

Anyone had a replacement done yet?

Thank you. I will call today.
Bummer..... Happens all the time out here in AZ. I was wondering the same thing, along with how $ it will cost. If you have replacement as part of your insurance, how much will they pay as I'm sure it is more expensive than a generic one....
we drove off the lot in Denver Co, heading up the freeway back home in Northern CO, and got a small spider chip... if the first place does not have the Jeep glass, call around. I have the Ram head that came on my ram 1500 right above the rearview, and they were able to replace that glass.
You can almost always get OEM glass for in production vehicles if you are willing to pay for it. It won't be the cheapest option. Given how long the Renegade has been available, I suspect it would be hard finding anything but OEM glass for a bit.
Our windshield was also cracked by a large rock from a gravel truck.

We ordered an OEM replacement from our dealer...and the $500 deductible hurts coming out of our bank account. Of course the trucking company refused to pay even though the trailer wasn't covered.

I just hope it has the Easter egg...
My brand new 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with only 200 miles on it has developed a crack on the windshield. The crack is circular about the size of a quarter. The crack is forming behind the rear view mirror mount/box on the inside of the vehicle but only visible from the outside of the vehicle. It never has been struck by a rock or has ever been off road. I have noticed several other Renegades with the same cracking. I do believe this is a factory defect. My Jeep is only a few days old and I cannot conclude any other possibility other than there is a defect in the rearview mount or windshield. Another owner I spoke too with a crack in the same location thought it was from a rock but didn't recall when it could have happened. I inspected it closer to discover there was no external damage pointing it out to them. They said they just assumed it was from a rock.

I am waiting on a dealer to contact me about my windshield and am a bit concerned. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice? It may be a minor set back to say the least.

Got a pic? Are you sure it's not just the funky led from the mysterious rain sensor? Because apparently they all have them for whatever reason.
Busted windshield

A tiny rock flew up and hit my windshield. The noise of it hitting was not bad and I thought nothing of it. Got back in the car 2 hours later and the chip turned into a 12 inch long curving crack.
Does anyone know if I take it to the dealer whether they will be able to put the same kind in it? I want the factory windshield with the cute little designs. At only 3,127 miles, I'm so disappointed bc this is my second major issue.
same thing happened to mine, I had no time to fix the initial crack. Now I have an S curve on the passenger side
Windshield

4000 miles broken windshield already, hope its not going to be like my previous FJ Cruiser couldn't keep a good one in. Seems like the glass stinks any slight hit even from a tiny pebble causes a chip or star. Anyone have a replacement yet did you get the same glass with the Jeep design and black trim ect or only if you get a factory replacement.

I had a replacement because of an issue with the way it was sealed at the factory. Everything exactly as it was stock.

Be prepared for a long wait though. There aren't many available in the US. It took me a month.
Mine has takena few cringe inducing stones off of 18 wheelers. Lucks been with me so far.

I am having the same issue I have a crack that came on suddenly. It's hard to tell and can easily be confused for the mirror mount. I'm so frustrated because to fix it it will cost me 1069 plus payment. This is ridiculous the car is 2 months old!!!!!!!!!! Help any advise or similar situation.

Good Luck, I have been waiting for a replacement windshield for 2 months, was ordered through the dealer on 9/4 and still has not arrived.
Just a note: the windshields I believe are made in Turkey, you would think FCA would have parts available before releasing this vehicle.
also my dealer has a Renegade that was in an accident last month and parts aren't available till mid December.
cracked windshield

So the wife calls be in a panic at lunch. Sometime this morning while driving to work a rock must have been kicked up and smacked the windshield. She didn't noticed it at first but at lunch it had spider webbed out about 5 inches. So looks like I'll be getting a new window here.. Hopefully there is some US stock available. Luckily we have glass repair on our insurance.

This seems to be very common with the renegade.
I hope it does not put our insurance up.
