I'm in southern Missouri.
I have no idea how much sand there is on your roads.I'm in southern Missouri.
Yep. Had our new/used 2018 renegade couple months now and already have a small chip. Vermont spreads salt -sand like they we're getting it for free. One thing I will say I have not seen any renegade any year any milage rusted out. One of the reasons we purchased one.I mentioned above we live in Colorado Springs. With only a year's driving on the Trailhawk, and only about 4,500 miles, in addition to tiny chips in the windshield, I've also got two small bulleseye cracks. It is aggravating, but I blame Colorado roads -- not the Trailhawk.
For better or for worse, I bought additional coverage on the Trailhawk from the dealer, which includes windshield replacement if necessary. Because Colorado.
That's another question. I believe vehicles in general of all makes over the past several decades have had tremendous improvements to their body rust resistance, at least as far as the steel body panels. One thing I will say I have not seen any renegade any year any milage rusted out.

With my first car, a brand-new 1976 Toyota (driven in Germany while I was stationed there, with the Autobahn chemicals used), the lower door and fender panels were just about rusted through after three years.
With my 1997 VW Passat, nothing was rusting through; but I had a lot of rust spots where the paint on the doors and fenders had been penetrated to the bare metal. I tried keeping up with the damage with spot-painting, but it was a losing (and ugly) battle. That was also after about eight years of driving in Europe.
We've had our two 2009 VWs since they were new. Not driving in Europe; but in Maryland, Ohio, and now Colorado. Yes there's a lot of "road rash" damage to the fronts of the hoods and other forward-facing surfaces, that i try to touch up. But the worst it normally does is chip the paint, but leaving the white base coat intact. No rust so far.
Not much to be done about the windshields. But at least the paint is much better than in decades past...
Must have been on the top level of the transport truck going through the desert.I've had my renegade for approx 1 year. It had a crack within days off the lot. I also noticed what looks like thousands of very tiny air bubbles when the sun hits it. It can't be wear because it was brand new. Still has less than 25k miles on it.

I had visions of the desert scene from Cannon Ball Run going through my head. Not sure the sand would have been kicked up to the top level. More like the Renegade was driving through the desert... a lot...
