Hi everyone, this is my first post but I recently replaced my valve cover gasket on my 2015 trailhawk and found that the plastic wire harness channel was completely broken. Not only the clips had snapped but the channel itself was broken in 3 or 4 places. After cleaning out the old broken clips from the holes ontop of the cover I realized that the cover in fact had threads tapped into it (M8-1.25). So I called up the dealership to see about getting a new plastic channel that I could then bolt on instead of using these worthless clips.
To my dismay it turns out they don’t actually sell that part stand alone, in fact you need to buy a whole new wiring harness. I felt this was absurd since that’s would cost a few hundred dollars. So I just cut all the zip ties off and made my own out of aluminum. I figured I’ld share it in the hopes it helps someone else. I mostly used hand tools, jigsaw, drill, vise and ball ping hammer. Hope it’s of some use.

Pretty impressive metal work right there. I found myself in a similar situation when the powered sunroof broke. It was just a simple plastic clip that probably would’ve cost $1 stand alone, but was only available if you bought the entire MySky roof, an estimate of $4500.

Hey thanks a lot! Bummer about the clip. It’s so frustrating when they won’t part out things like that.
