I am thinking of buying a 2016 used renegade with 45000 miles. My worry is the reviews that say it is unreliable. Any thoughts?

I had no issues with my 2016 Sport and would probably still have it if it had all the features I missed from my Grand Cherokee. I only traded it in for a Trailhawk to get those features back.

Kate there's good and bad too this renegades but if you're looking to get a SUV I would honestly say stay away from fiat products. It's a love hate relationship with my 15 trailhawk. It seems like I solve one problem another is around the corner. Wish you the best of luck with what ever your choice is.

I bought a 2016 Trailhawk with 31k miles a month ago. I did need to get a sensor replaced, but other than that it's been fantastic on multiple camping trips. The key with ANY used vehicle is to learn the condition. If someone took their Trailhawk out and rallied it like they were in a derby, you obviously don't want to own that. Always get a used car inspected by a third party mechanic. Good luck!

I loved my 2015 Renny Trailhawk until the transmission went wonky a few months ago. I went to the dealership and got a software update, and it's been fine since then, but it's been hard to totally trust the fix. Jenny (that's her name) is so much fun to drive on my dirts roads, but I like reliability in a car. If you have a few years left on the transmission warranty (and I think you do) then I would cautiously consider it.

My 2016 Trailhawk had its ABS control unit go out at 47k miles. It's disabled a host of other features like 4wd and even remote start (things that shut off if a light is on).
Dealership says $2500 to fix on top of the $400 I've given them just to tell me what's wrong. Chrysler/Jeep says the warranty doesn't cover it.
That's my experience. Needless to say I won't be looking at other Jeeps once I can get something else, I regret trading in my Wrangler for this.

Personally I would not due to too many issues with my 2018 Renegade so I am leary of the brand. But others would likely say they would as they have not experienced issues.

I bought a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk in 2017 with about 38K miles on it. I have had it for over two years and it has been trouble free. Worried about repairs and all the computer assisted stuff, I did buy an extended warranty. Fortunately there have been no repair issues yet other than routine maintenance.
