So finally resolved the acquiring signal problem
in my 2015 Renegade.
There was a TSB found by my dealer
He ordered the antenna part# 68440631-AA
Drove home for some 50
Automotive lighting Motor vehicle Steering part Gauge Speedometer
files, not a fade anywhere.
Attached is the bottom of the new antenna. 2 leads, one for FM, one for XM
Really works great now.

Seems this was the answer.

Interesting, the Mopar parts sites say it fits 2018-2020 Renegade, but TSB #08-146-18
lists it as the replacement part for 2015-2017 Renegades where the "Satellite radio intermittently drops out and looses the signal."
That could be because 2018 and later Renegades already have the improved antenna -- so the TSB only applies to 2015-2017...?

I would agree, I could not get them to give me the old antenna.
I would have taken it apart to "see" what was changed.
My guess is the original antenna did not have a pre-amp. Almost all gps and xm antennas do. I would think the new one does.
No fades around here at all, perhpas better than my Lexus..

This is an infuriating problem. I have the same issue. Pointed out the TSB to multiple Jeep dealerships and they will not cover the cost of replacement. Also, this TSB says 1.1 hours expected for repair, both shops I called want $200-ish diag fee + $160-ish for the antennae + $700-$750 for 3 hours of labor!!! Over $1000 to fix this stupid issue they are aware of and tons of people clearly have. Absolute garbage. Also, the recommended replacement part number doesn't come up in their system because, as mentioned here, it is fixed on newer models and the TSB calls to have the newer model antennae installed. Pretty much just going to deal with it or look into getting a second antennae installed. Super frustrating.

I was VERY lucky, had a great Service Manager, did not charge me a dime. Then again I just bought the car used from them a few months until I realized how bad it was. Never have fades now. . Drove 40 miles to that dealership, Now he is gone....At least there is a fix. The new antenna has a pre-amp, I think that made the difference.
