KyRenegade, I just received my black on black Jeep Renegade Trailhawk a week ago today after waiting four months. I initially went through the same fear as you, did I choose the right color. I initially wanted a the commando green, but, it wasn't offered in the 2016. I absolutely love the color, it looks amazing.

 

Thanks for the reasurrance! Mabey i'll add some custom paint and trim to her for a bit of an individualized touch. I searched "custom painted jeep renegade" and there were some really cool google images out there. It's gonna be four LONG months!

 

Hey KyRenegade - speaking from my color choice second-thoughts personal experience, there should be some flexibility with that. On Oct 29 I ordered (thru my credit union broker service), a Glacier Metallic Limited. Then 3 weeks later I changed my mind and my broker was able to change it to the Granite Crystal Metallic. During this time I was also beginning to see forum posts about the new 2016 colors (the new blue really caught my eye!) However, the jeep website wasn't yet up to date with that color info and so I stayed put with Granite. Cut to Thanksgiving weekend (1 month after my original order!) - I went to the LA Auto Show and laid eyes on an Anvil Trailhawk. That did it. That following Monday I VERY sheepishly got on phone with my Broker who told me he thouht my Limited was already in build process but he'd check for me. I now am about 15 days into my new, and yes, final order for anvil trailhawk and could not be happier! Broker made it happen for me and in his words, his Jeep guy wanted to keep his customers happy. Yes I pushed my luck big time but I came up aces and no regrets. No added charges either ! Now I just gotta send my broker a huge bottle of aspirin. Lol.

Thank you SS Renny! I'm glad you love your anvil trailhawk! I bet she IS beautiful! I may go back to dealer again and beg a little. Maybe offer to pay extra for their trouble as i really wouldn't mind it costing more as they gave me a good deal. There has to be a way to resolve this!

 

If you do offer to pay extra and then they're magically able to make the change then that would just prove that they were not being truthful with you before and just being too lazy to change it.

I changed my mind (with my wife's encouragement) shortly after ordering it. Since the order had already been accepted the dealer couldn't do it themselves but they called the area representative who was able to do it. My take is that you can make such changes as long as you don't wait too long. It just may be that your dealer doesn't want the hassle.

Maybe you should ask them if it would be more hassle if you cancel the order and go to another dealer

 

I changed my colour but it was only a few days later.

Did the dealer check if it was possible or just say no when you asked.

It definitely can be done until the vehicle reaches a certain code in the build process.

 

Thanks for the info Oldav8tor! I would cancel but I put a $500 deposit down and i'm afraid they might keep it if I back out. I called jeep today and the rep I talked to said no changes can be made after order is placed at the factory because parts are being ordered for the build. This is all so confusing. I guess I will just have to live with my first color choice. Maybe after a few years I can trade and get the anvil trailhawk.

 

It has been 15 days since I requested the order syzygy. When they actually placed it I'm not sure. My original salesman no longer works at the dealership. Even though, every salesman at the dealership has to consult the sales manager for everything. They go off to his office then run back to their desk to tell me what "he" said. Very weird! So who knows what was said behind closed doors. Thanks for the info!

 

I had second thoughts as well, but I'm happy with my black on black. If I could do it over I'd probably do orange or anvil but I'm still very happy.

 

Running back to the sales manager is usually a ploy, kind of a automotive "good cop, bad cop." Your salesman is already quite aware of what kind of deal he can make so any time I hear about that routine I'm suspicious.

Ask your salesman to show you the POC (Priced Order Confirmation.) It will have the all the option info, etc., VON and the actual order date along with the current status..... if they were tardy in actually submitting the order it might be possible to change. If already sequenced for production then you are too late.
