Audio system inactive/unavailable = ????

Here's possibly a new one. Has anyone had the error message "Audio System Inactive" flash up on the dash?

Audio output acting normal, then goes silent, then the error message comes up on the dash, then the audio goes into a restart process, and then comes back on. Did it twice on my 15 minute ride into work today.

Hmmmmm????

Radio Issue

Well, this morning I got in my Renegade Trailhawk. None of my radio buttons would work. When I started driving the radio would just shut off. Approximately 30-45 seconds and then it would restart and come back on. I would get a light on the display (pic attached) it has been doing this all morning. I have the 5" touchscreen radio (no nav). Uconnect, Bluetooth, rear view camera. I hope this goes away. I only have 1,795 miles.
I wonder if anyone else has had this issue?

Maybe just needs an update. Are you on satellite when it happens? I am I wonder if it will happen if I'm on the radio (fm) or aux? I will test, maybe it has to do with the satellite.

Radio Issue

Here's another pic. It has only happened to me while on satellite. I am going to try different sources (fm,Bluetooth and aux) I will post my findings. I have a sneaky suspicion it has something to do with the satellite radio.

I just had my iPhone playing through Bluetooth and it happened. So I guess it's not just on satellite. Guess I gotta stop by dealership. YAY, that's always is a fun time. Hopefully it will cure itself (fingers crossed) it's kinda weird how it's happening to several prosper all of the sudden. What model Renegades do you all have? Just interested.

2015 Latitude here. Must be some system level issue. Hopefully we arent jacking around with the Delta or ATC system - HA!!

This happened to my '15 Latitude 1.4T this morning too, with uConnect 5.0. Restarted 4 or 5 times during an hour drive.

Apparently this is NOT isolated. The JROG group on Facebook is blowing up with reports just from yesterday and today. There has been mention of a Sirius update that may be causing it.

So I'd hold off on taking it in, or at least call the dealer first and see what reports they have. It looks like an over-the-air update may be the cause, which means whatever fix they come up with will probably be deployed over-the-air as well.

Mine froze up this morning while the music was still playing and wouldn't let me change the station while listening to the sat radio and it wouldn't let me change it to the turner or Bluetooth then all the sudden it turned completely off and then back on again. I just checked and I have no saved messages and I didn't think about checking it while I was driving.

Well then I think it's safe to assume it's an issue with Sirius/XM. I'm sure they will get it fixed. Or at least I hope so. I actually disconnected my negative battery terminal for like 5 minutes. It hasn't shut of since, it's been about 20 minutes.

What are the odds this happened twice on my ride into work today? The first time was during a drive. The second time after I stopped for coffee, restarted and had no audio. Volumn dial did nothing. Trying to power off did nothing. I gave up as the system seemed frozen, and then it restarted itself and came on....

I guess many are having this today. As a note, I was on FM both times mine did this.

Same issue - 4x on the way to work this morning. I was using BT, streaming a podcast at the time. Have the 5.0 w/ beats. When I finally got to work and turned the Jeep off, the radio was frozen and stayed on - pushing buttons, etc., did nothing. Seemed to resolve itself in a few minutes, after I turned the Rene on again.

Yes, I also just renewed my Sirius/XM. Damn.

Given the amount of people reporting this, I think it appropriate for JeepCares to chime in and give us some direction....
