Back Up Camera Display delay

Often when I start my '15 TH and put it in reverse, there is a long lag before the back up camera view comes up on my display. (I get the legal disclaimer asking me to agree, a screen that says my Sirius XM is acquiring signal, and, finally the backup camera display comes up.) Is this "normal" (it sure is annoying)? Is there anything that be done to minimize or eliminate the delay? I would have expected that the BU camera would have priority over other displays when the TH is in reverse.

There is a setting, called the Camera Delay, that may help you in returning to your normal radio screen when you move the gear selector out of reverse. Here's what i found in the Owner's Manual:" To set the ParkView® Backup Camera Delay press the “MORE” button on the faceplate, the “settings” button on the touchscreen, then the “Safety & Driving Assistance” button on the touchscreen. Press the “Parkview Backup camera Delay” button on the touchscreen to turn the ParkView® Delay ON or OFF."

The delay will give you up to 10 seconds before the camera display turns off and goes back to the radio. See if this helps that end of it.

Thanks for the suggestion about turning off the auto on radio. I did that and saw a much reduced delay time before the view from the backup camera was display. After a few days of having the auto radio disabled, I switched it back on and, for reasons that I can't really understand, the view from the camera comes up very quickly. Its as if something reset itself. We'll just see if it degrades again after a while.

The delay that is selectable (On - Off) from the radio menu ("More" on my radio) is for how long the rear camera picture stays on the display after you shift out of reverse. That may solve the disengage part of Lilati's issue.
