I dont like how you cant use a locking gas cap option, anyone can pop the door open and vandalize my fuel inlet. Also when fueling, I notice when I go get gas, I have to mess with the fuel pump nozzle to get it to lock on the handle, not all the way in, more like 2/3rds in. is it me?

 

I just keep ours clean of debris !!! Wash it like I do the outside of the vehicle I even do door jambs LOL !!!

I use the spray can cap to keep stuff out of the filler neck ABOVE the flap/valve. Once the debris is into the recess above the flap/valve, there's no keeping it out of the tank when you open the flap/valve with a pump filler head neck. I do the same on my Ford Transit which has no cap.

 

Alrighty. I feel better. I also use a spray can cap to keep out junk but knowing it’s built to manage fumes and pressure helps relax on moisture. Still keeping one eye on it tho. Thanks people.

 

There are 2 doors in the filler neck to keep things out and fumes in.

 

I put a spray paint can lid over mine. FIts perfectly.

 

There's a flap that seals shut. It needs a nozzle to open it.
It's why there is a plastic funnel in the roadside kit to allow you to refuel from a can that doesn't have the right nozzle if needed.
