I was going to go to the store shortly ago and got into my vehicle, pushed the start button and it says Key Fob not detected...but that's how I unlocked the vehicle?!? Then I put the key fob to the start button and the panel comes on, goes through all various check this, check that, but does not turn over. Radio does not come on. Could there be an electrical issue by chance, as I have heard that the 2016 Renegade possibly had some issues? It only has 48K miles on it and has not been driven a lot. I live on a mountain with no mechanic shops, and this is my only vehicles so I'm kind of at a loss for words right now. Fortunately, I work from home.
Has anyone had this issue? If yes, what was the outcome, please?
Thank you!

We are sorry to hear of your concerns, Queen B. If you continue to experience this, we would suggest a formal dealership visit. Let us know if you go that route, we are happy to provide support.

Vehicle battery. If it's too weak to start, you can charge it, but remove both terminal clamps from the battery before charging it. Then immediately drive it to a shop to get a new quality battery, the charge was a temporary fix. Try to avoid getting a traditional jump start from another vehicle, this has been known the wreck havoc on the electronics of these vehicles. Easiest option is to buy a jump pack and leave it in your Jeep for future use.

This happened to me and it turned out the FOB needed new battery. Glad I didn't go to the dealership. They had given me a 2nd FOB and it was still working. So just replaced the other.
