Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my 2015 Renegade Ltd. giving Stop/Start not working and Engine Management lights alarm on dashboard. However,
temperature reads 61 degrees centigrade. Far too hot for UK!!! A/C is working but not heater. Am I right in thinking that Temp. Control Sensor has failed causing the alarms, or something else? Would appreciate some thoughts before I take it to a garage. Not a common vehicle in UK and some mechanics in the dark about working on Jeeps.
Thanks
Paul

I'm pretty sure that the sensor is on the passenger side (left) mirror for RHD

Yeah thats about right. Most if not all garages that specialise in FCA will list Fiat, Abarth, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo and Jeep as they're all pretty much the same these days.
I'm looking at a place I've just found that's actually quite local to me that specialises in all of the above [Fiat/Abarth/Chrysler/Alfa/Jeep].
Either way, the Renegade is a dark area for servicing/specialised stuff in the UK, as peabeax said, not a lot of people like touching them.
Yes with the bits and pieces I have done at home on my Jeep pretty mich everything is Fiat badged. I know it is a Jeep in badging only but I like it for its small size SUV.
Thanks again for your help.

So, based on all your information and having watched the video. I'm going to order a replacement unit from Ebay and give it a go! I have disconnected the power socket to the door, cleaned it and replaced it but still the same. Worth a try! I'll let you know how i get on. At least I can still drive it.
Cheers Guys

Hi Guys, update on my temperature sensor. I have today successfully fitted a new temperature sensor to my Renegade. The really tricky part of the fitting was the removal of the mirror cowl. But managed it after some blood, sweat and swearing and without breaking any of the lugs and more importantly, the glass!! It now works fine reading 21 degrees, which is spot on for UK today. However, I still have the engine management light on and Stop/start alarm (not functioning) also on. Could it just need these alarms reset? Or is there something else that is the cause of alarms?
Anyway thanks for your hints and tips on solving original problem.

Ha! I installed some smoked out dynamic/sweeping indicators for my mirrors so had to go through the same blood, sweat and swearing to get everything off without breaking. Glad you were able to sort your temperature sensor out. Out of interest, is your temperature reading only shown in the cluster, or does it also show in the top bar of the Uconnect screen? I'd love to have mine shown in the Uconnect screen but it must be a regional thing..

As for your other issues, how long has it been now? How long has it been since you changed the sensor. The Renegade's love taking time to adjust (I believe the computers all sync when they all go to sleep), so I'd recommend giving it a few days (making sure you drive around as usual) and the warning lights will probably turn off randomly.

jackmm you are absolutely right! Warning lights turned off yesterday, you say just randomly. Driven it a few times since and no warning lights. Thanks again.
