The 1.4MA is the same in the Fiats, Alfas, Dart and the Jeeps.

 

Thanks but not jeep 1.4 liter is not the same configuration as the jeep 2.4 liter

 

Even the error code us different than every other description or tutorial I've seen. P0300. The diagnostic says that means the problem is with the crankshaft position sensor but that code isn't mentioned anywhere I can find outside of my specific vehicle.

 

It's the same engine & gearbox as the Fiats & Alfas.

 

P0300 is a cylinder misfire iirc.

 

From my service manual (2017) it is under the air hose that goes from the intercooler to the throttle body.

And I confirmed it, under the area where the green arrow is pointing.

This is a shot with holding the phone upside down stuck down along the battery with the camera pointing at the transmission side of the engine.

This is the camshaft position sensor. The crankshaft position sensor is located at the rear of the crankshaft on the gearbox side. There is a plug hidden way down, I think either under the starter motor or on the turbo side near the bottom of the bell housing. I suspect the gearbox needs to be removed to fit the crankshaft position sensor.
(not to be confused with the crank/engine speed sensor located on the harmonic balancer)
